anything you upgrade will give any car benefits. weather its a stock car or a 400hp car. those cams are the most common. And I can guarantee there is plenty of people running a basically stock car with these cams. putting a 16g on it isn't making t a race car your still not fair from stock. these cams are going to allow you to carry more power at to the top of your rpms. weather your 200hp or 400hp you will notice the difference. just make sure you tune to get the most out of them. You do not need to up grade to a 16g, but if you are trying to further then just a stock car with cams then a (MHI) 16g will be a nice turbo to get you started.

Kelfords will be completely useless on a stock car. Even with a 16g its basically useless. Will you see some gains? Yes but you will loose a bunch on the low end, make a little more in the mids and minuscule gains in the top end as the turbo runs out of breath. Kelford 272's are huge and people dont realize it. Go for something milder like the 264/gsc s1/hks 272.

lasthope you are correct I was confusing the kelfords for the hks stage1 272. when I was thinking about it I was thinking hks

Kelford 272 work grate with with a 16g. I was running kelford 272 with an mhi Evo 3 16g and got grate low in, full spool at 3100 rpm at 23 psi and would still pull past 8500 rpm. There are other ppl on the forms that had great success with kelford 272 and 16g turbos.

LOL... Kelford on a t25? Cute..
Lol. I'm not trying to gain any hp with cams right off the back. I got a great deal on these and I'm also doing a complete timing install. So I want to install the cams at the same time, but wanna know if this will damage my car.[DOUBLEPOST=1415428688][/DOUBLEPOST]

I already purchased these cams for a great price. I only want to know if installing these cams will damage my car in any way? I'm doing a timing kit install so I might as well install the cams.[DOUBLEPOST=1415428759][/DOUBLEPOST]
I swapped out my trusty old HKS272s for a set of kelfords....don't think it helped at all.
On a stock setup? I'm not concerned with any benefits at the moment, but more on if it will damage my car.

No your car wont be fine, unless youre tuning to compensate for all the extra airflow you'll be running now. After i installed both my Fp2 (DSM) and Kelfords (Evo) my AFR were super lean aross my RPM band. My tuner told me to only use the cars to get me from point A to B, nothing else. Once we tuned them and my AFR were perfect i could start beating on them

I have dsmlink and my brother has lots of experience with tuning. So all I have to do is compensate the extra airflow with link?

Correct. I still think its overkill for a t25, doubt you see much improvement. Youre just gona get a mean sounding idle and a loss in mpg

Your car will be fine. Tune it after install. Nothing will get damaged. You will see some good improvement. Don't push the t25 over 16psi. Install the 16g soon as you can. Retune it. Enjoy.
p.s. Might wanna think of getting adjustable cam gears to get the most out of them.

Your car will be fine, with proper springs. Although there gonna be only small gain with the stock turbo, but any gain is an upgrade. It a great future upgrade with bigger turbo.

Get some kiggly springs and along with there hla regulator. It helps with valve tick.

After an extensive reading, I have a couple questions that everyone seems to have different answers on.
1. Some people say kelfords 272 act more like hks 280-(as an example)
2. Will my car run horrible in the low to mid range? This is my daily driven car btw.
3. I'm not planning to rev my car passed 75-8k so would these cams work fine?
4. A lot of people say these cams are "aggressive" but what exactly makes them that?
Thanks in advance for your responses.

1. Yes
2. No, it will be trickier to get it to idle stablily.
3. Yes.
4. They have very steep ramps, meaning they open and close the valves fast. They are 272* seat to seat, but the duration at .050" is like an HKS280 or bigger.

Thank you!! I also have dsmlink so It will be easier to stabilize my idle. I plan on upgrading my setup, but for now wanted to install the cams since I'm installing my timing kit. Anything I should know now that won't give me a heart attack when I fire up my car after the installation?

install your belts properly/correctly first.

The kelford 272s are bigger then hks 280, which has less duration and lift. I personally think they are way too big. For a 16g you want to maximize power around 3000-6500 and picking a cam for that powerband is more important for streetability then usless peak numbers which everybody thinks its all about. You want a wide usuable powerband thats maximized.

I understand what you're saying but I'm not sticking with these small turbos. The only reason I'm installing these cams is because I got a good deal and I'm doing a timing kit job. I'm not looking for any gains at this moment. I will be mostly cruising until I buy an upgraded clutch and turbo for wot pulls. That's all I need for my setup.
