I have a brand new s256 turbo i got for a great deal that I will be installing this weekend. I have a question about oil feed restrictors. The threads from search results show roughly a 50/50 split saying to restrict the feed, or just run it with no restrictor. My plan is to run it with the extreme psi borg warner ofh feed kit, with no restrictor. I have BSE and see 90 psi at WOT. Would this be a bad idea? thanks.

I run the same turbo with the recommended restrictor with no issues. Is it 90 psi cold or warm? If it's warm I'd run a restrictor for sure.

90 PSI warm. The restrictor you run is the .080 flange fitting one from bullseye?[DOUBLEPOST=1415327510][/DOUBLEPOST]
You'll be fine with out one. I run it off my ofh with 4 an feed and 10 an return line no problems.

Do you have balance shafts, and what oil pressure do you see at WOT?[DOUBLEPOST=1415327623][/DOUBLEPOST]
You want to restrict pressure, not flow. I measure my pressure off the OFH with a T in the line, then would change pressure with relief porting and OFH spring length.

I feel my pressure is high, about 15-20 idle, 60-70 cruise and 90 at WOT. I should do this mod.

I have my bs deleted and I was seeing upwards of 90 psi and 60 to 70 psi crusing this image justinmx sent me when I was having same consern. Its really up to you

Where exactly are you measuring pressure from? The same port the turbo will be feeding from?

My service manual for the S200sx family (I had the 59mm a few years back) said max cold pressure of ~115psi and max warm pressure ~75psi, min idle pressure was ~10psi and had to be built in a few seconds after start.

I called bullseye told them about my setup and the guy said to run it without a restrictor, -4 feed from ofh and at least -10 return. I was told over 100 psi, or if smoking at WOT is when a feed restrictor is needed.
