I mounted a small Acer mini in the glove box in my 1g gs. Car had no dash cover but a glove box for my pc LOL

There's a great thread about this already, someone made a very nice one, fold-able and everything. I can't find the thread right now but I'm sure you can if you search for it.

Ram mount doesn't have anything for a 1G or 2G specific

If you search "car laptop mount" on eBay there is several setups to choose. When the time comes I'll purchase one.

I have a ram mount on my car, but mine is easy since I have no passenger seat or passengers. It's just mounted on a piece of half inch pipe. You can make any kind of bracket you can dream up to hold the actual laptop mount portion. It works pretty well though. Somewhere below 1.3 second 60 foots the lap top would open the spring loaded mount and fall out, so I turned it around so it opens forward. Now when I pull the chute over 175-180 it slides forward and still falls out. WTF. :D If you can keep the lap top mounted laterally for the most part it will work better. I deal with the spring loaded setup because it makes inserting and removing the laptop a 1 second affair. I may try some kind of non-slip rubber under the laptop to see if that holds it in place without giving up that advantage. Not sure if any of this helps or not.

I can find a picture if you want, but I use a Sony Vaio UX on a RAM mount when at the track. This way you only need to look straight, and can see if any knock or other abnormalities occur without having to look around any other gauges.

I am interested in seeing pictures of how people have done this. If you have time, snap a picture and post it up.
