Im looking to buy a 98 Gsx soon and im trying to figure out what I can push for power out of it without major uprades and how I can reach that goal

Sorry I dont have the car yet so im pretty vauge in what I really want still, major would be like boring out the engine or switching the bottom half of engine block, major things like that, im new to dsm, its mainly gonna be a streat car id like to be able to beat stock stis and modded out civics I wanna do at least 12s easy, id like to run 9s someday but that will be later on when I get further in, 12s or higher would be awesome

Take a stroll thru some of the build journals at wht other peole have done and qht times they run etc. to get an idea of wht kinda mods u will need to perform to reach the #s u want

How about doing all of your maintenance? I'm 5 months in and still not caught up enough on that to even think about moving on yet. Then DSMlink, Injectors, fuel pressure regulator, and a bigger turbo. I suspect a small 16g properly tuned will take you to 300+ hp and close to the 12s. In addition to your basic maintenance those four parts will run you probably around $1,100, plus a little more to adapt a 16g turbo to a 2g car.

Thanks guys im new to this site so I dont know everything on here yet Ill definitely be looking at the journals, and ya 1100 isnt bad at all the car im looking to buy is mint condition and been properly maintained so as long as I keep the maintenence up I can jump right into tuning, I was thinking of a bigger turbo and an intercooler and some new injectors and a good exhaust to go with it and all the hardware of course, I just need to make sure I dont put to much for the engine or tranny to handle
