Well.... It's been a while since my last update. Not much has changed at all. I took FOREVER getting up all of the sound deadening material from the driver and passenger floor boards, but I finally finished it. After I got all of that out, I sanded, primed, then laid down two coats of Rust-Oleum truck bed liner. My idea with this is that it should provide some noise dampening effects, but it's nowhere near as heavy or as thick as the factory tar/shit that I removed.

That looks good, nice work!

Well, it's been a month and a half since my last update, and as most people here in NC would say, "I ain't got sh!t done". I truly hate it, but nothing has happened as of late. Nothing more than day dreams, and watching money go into the bank account one day, and leave the next day for bills. Anyway, I sent the head with my brother in law who has a friend that "does machine work" to have the head cleaned. Well, it came back cleaner than I dropped it off as, but no where near as clean as it should be. So, I'm lapping the valves into this head within the next few days (I didn't lap them into the other head because the exhaust manifold stud holes were too far gone), and then I'll send it to the person who cleaned the original head for me, and it came back spotless.

Also, I sold/traded a few items I've had laying around for a while, and bought an intake and a new OEM idler pulley, as well as a few pigtails that I need to solder on because my dog felt it necessary to chew on parts of my wiring harness... Just need to buy a new tensioner pulley, and the timing side will have all new components, and then I'll have to start making more progress. Six full months left in this year, gotta get this thing put together and running!

It's that time again... not much progress to show either. Other than just ordering some new parts, I've managed to get the valves lapped in the new head I bought, and I got the spare tire well cover/delete panel cut to shape and riveted in. That's it so far. Here are a few more pictures -

Oh, and I forgot to mention, the previous owner did a hell of a hack job when he removed the spare tire well. He left tons of jagged edges, half-ass cuts, and he also removed a whole lot of material that he shouldn't have. I know the before picture of whats left in the hatch/cargo area doesn't look great, but I cleaned up what he left behind and that's all I had left to work with. If I can find the picture of what it looked like before I cleaned it up, I'll upload it. Until next time guys, peace!

The panel looks good. I think you'll like the SRS exhaust. That's what I have on my car and it sounds very deep and throaty. It's not too loud at all while cruising either.

Thank you! And thanks for the info on the exhaust. I've watched a few clips on Youtube, but it seems like everyone's phone or camera picks up the sound differently. I got a good deal on it, so I'm pretty excited.

Keep up the progress. looks like a heck of a buld for being a dd :hellyeah:

Thanks man! I'm hoping it will be pretty fun when it's finally all put together.

I've ordered some more parts the past week or so. I got a pretty sweet deal on an FP manifold and stud kit today, and I also ordered rear EBC pads. If this semester will hurry up and be over already, I'll have a lot more free time to actually put in some work on the car.

Good deal! Keep in mind that the front two bolts are way shorter than the others, so you will need different bolts. I bought OEM length ARP turbo bolts and forgot that two of them wouldnt fit. Just something to keep in mind ;)
