I love the rare early mitsu cars, you have a truly awesome star/quest there, so sad to hear the motor went on you, well at least you got as much fun and joy out of that motor before it gave up the ghost.

Please do keep us all updated on the build man, I'm subscribing to this, I always love to see these awesome old nostalgic cars. kinda shame mitsu does not have an old school style rwd sports car like these to represent todays market.
 
2.6L trash is out. Found a G64B block in a really tight spaced junkyard.

Yea, Since Im staying 5 speed I need the wideblock "G63B or G64B", 4g63 is a narrow block doesnt bolt up to my trans.[DOUBLEPOST=1413735118][/DOUBLEPOST]
I did a 4G63 swap on an 89 widebody I got for $300. Rust free western car. Used a powerglide. AEM. Made a harness for it.
What turbo manifold is that?
 
TY, will be using a 1g dohc head and intake manifold modified for rwd.[DOUBLEPOST=1413763924][/DOUBLEPOST]Here is how the old setup ran after cracking all four pistons. Two cylinders had low compression, one ring land was completely broken from the piston.. Still idled great LOL....

Pulled the head off the 2.4L block, OMG that is the worst Felpro gasket I have ever seen. Mechanic must have been a noob to not see that when putting it on.

Cylinders are round but the gasket wasnt. You can see how the out of round the gasket was in this picture.

Found another 4G64 6 bolt wideblock with a good crank in the junkyard today. Will be dropping them off to be cleaned and magnafluxed this week...

Updated the 1st post. Also picked up the turbo for the swap, cant wait. "HE351".... Also just picked up the crankshaft from the machine shop, which said its in great shape. Thats a relief cause factory 6-bolt 64 cranks are really hard to find.

What are you planning to use for a Cam angle sensor and crank trigger? I am swapping my conquest in a few months because I bought it with a siezed motor and I also found a 6 bolt wideblock 4g64 and I'm looking into the options for cam and crank triggers.

It looks like there are some hyundia 4g63's that have a head with 1g ports and have the spot to bolt on the cam sensor. That head combined with a kiggly crank trigger should do the trick. I plan to use ECMlink for my engine managment, I don't know how that differs for you since your using AEM EMS.

Also I take it you're modding the head to move the coolant port to the front of the engine?

using a 1g head so its the 1g cas

Mine is already setup to run and has been with the G54B with mpi using a modded 1g cas, there is no wiring involved on this swap.

Mail Call, 450 bux later. Seller stated used for 300 miles then parted out the car. There going to the machine shop for a spec sheet, if they dont come out to what the seller stated then we will go from there. Took a cap off and it fits the 6-bolt crank like its suppose to. Caps are labeled Evo 1 - 6.141. Still going to drop them off at the M-shop.
