Hi an thank you for looking at my thread.

I'm sorry if someone already asked this question but i have been surfing the forums for some time and i cant seem to pinpoint what i am looking for. Im hoping you guys can help me out.

Is their a hx35 installation guide or how to and if their is can i get a link please!!

I noticed their are several options on about doing the installation and have so many questions. I just want a clear how to so i can get a better idea.

Again sorry if this was asked before!

Also were could i get my hands on a 7 blade i been looking cant seem to find any!

Any questions feel free to ask me. The HX35 install and the HX40 are going to be exactly the same. with the exception if you have water lines. Both drains are to the same spec and a -12AN is recommended. what exhaust housing will you be using?

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...ercooler/443321-holset-hx40-installation.html

Thank you for the quick response! Ok as far the info i have gathered correct me if i am wrong!
If their are other options i am all ears!

I will be using a stock hx35 housing which is t3 on the manifold side and i will be buying this o2 i have found in another thread and hook my exhaust onto it!
Turbo Elbow Outlet Mitsubishi Eclipse & Talon DSM 1G 2G O2(T3/T4 5Bolts Flange)

As far as manifold def going to get a t3. Have been researching on finding the right one that will have the right clearance and has the wastegate outlet in a discrete location trying to keep my car low key.

Do all hx35 have twinscroll? I'm assuming its the two ports on the inlet side of the exhaust housing. I noticed some t3 manifolds come with twinscroll but they are out of my budget at the moment.

Also I would like to get a 7 blade instead of a 8 blade, but i have currently found a 8 blade getting a pretty good deal. Were can i get one?

First of all you can find a 7 blade HX35 from jusMX141 on here or ebay, or classified, diesel fourms. i THINK that all holsets from the factory utilize a twin scroll of some sort, not necessarily only T3 though. If i was you i would pick up a DNP divided T3 or T4 depending on what your holset has.

Another option is to go with the .55AR BEP housing and it will bolt onto your dsm flange. thats what i did.

Thanks i will try to find that person for that 7 blade. Also that bep housing your talking about is the one with a t3 manifold inlet with the dsm outlet for the flange right?

Also were can i get my hands on this dnp divided t3 manifold mind if i can get a link to someone that sells it?

Google is your friend man.. Dont expect everyone to spoon feed you all the time, you have to put in some effort as well..

We have tons of venders on this site and links can be found in the "Marketplace" tab up in the top bar. Heres a link for now. DSMtuners Supporting Vendors

The BEP housing he is referring to would replace the large stock T3 housing on the holset and would bolt up to a stock DSM exhaust manifold as well as the stock o2 housing.

No one is spoon feeding, urban mentioned a exhaust he seemed to be familiar with it. I don't think it was rude to ask. Also i have been researching for months trying to figure out the best way for me to complete my set up within my budget. I notice their is many different ways about doing the installation that it can cause some headaches. If people have knowledge about particular items and don't mind sharing its cool. I wouldn't mind..... sharing

^ good stuff thanks for saving me the hassle of explanation. :)
BEP also makes an open t3 if you swing that way also.

Thanks urban!
I think the best way for me at the moment, is getting o2 housing i linked keeping the stock hx35 housing and running a t3 manifold.I found someone on here who is going to sell me a hx35+t3 manifold giving me a pretty good deal. Its a 8 blade but if i cant find a 7 its cool! Get one later down the road!

I will be buying the oil lines from the link from your hx40 thread so thanks for your info and i appreciate your time!

no problem, and for future refrence, i spent my first 8,000 dollars with extreme psi. they have the DNP manifolds DSM flange or T3 or devided T4 i beleive. make sure your stock housing isnt too big or you will get massive lag. i personally if set on T3 would just do the BEP open T3 .70AR its been proven to max the hx40. i think i read somewhere that the HX40 HP record was done on the old T3 BEP .55AR? not sure if its divided or not though, justin actually has one, but he has expressed he will not part with it.. Ever... Since its discontinued.

I'm rocking the DNP DSM flange with the .55AR dsm flange BEP and i think that will net me in the 600HP range on race gas or pump with meth. i only chose the .55AR because my pistons probably will be reaching their limit at 600HP and there is no point going past that if its gonna crack them. so until i do another rebuild im sticking DSM flange and there is nothing wrong with that.

Right now money wise the option im going will be easier on my pockets than if i buy a bep housing. If that deal fall through for the manifold+hx35 i will most likely go your route.

I was also reading that if you go the dsm bep route you get air restrictions on the hx35. Don't know if that's true of course have not ran it myself. I was reading if get a twin scroll for that t3 you get better response again cannot verify. I got to do some more research.

Again thanks, all the info will be on this thread. Hopefully others will get to see or maybe we can add to it

you are correct the .55AR bep on the HX35 is a restriction because the turbine is smaller, somehow the HX40 seems to not care as much but that might just be because the turbine is larger. the only reason people go BEP is because its cheaper then having to buy a new manifold and o2 housing. you might even need a custom DP if you keep the Stock housing. a bep housing is around 250. so 250 plus the turbo isnt a bad deal. especially if you can find a cheap Holset without any exhaust housing. im also sure that there is a holset in the classifieds that will include one of the BEP style housings.

Oh most definitely like i said i'm relying on my deal combo. If i get the turbo and manifold than ill go with that o2 housing that will bolt to my dp. If it falls through, I will do what you suggested and look for a holset with a bep already or buy one without the housing and call bullseye.

Good luck. i cant imagine how much more costly what you are wanting to try first is.... how good is this deal? and how do you know the turbo isnt in need of a rebuild? are you positive that your cheapo o2 housing will bolt up to a stock DP? or which ever DP you have? im gonna guess for a turbo and manifold combo your looking at around 600 bucks plus the 02 housing 700 bucks.. and the BEP combo can be had for the same with less effort or even possibly cheaper. reguardless, when buying a used holset; always budget for a rebuild just incase.

Used Holset-200-500
Used T3- 100-450
Rebuild-140-250 <depending on where and who you go through
o2 housing-$150
Drain- no more then $100
__________________
so your already at a max estamate of 1,350 for that setup. when you COULD have:

used Holset-200-500 <possibly even with the BEP already on there
Rebuild- 140-250
Drain- $100
$850 MAX
and you keep your DSM manifold and o2 housing. i just like to give you all your options

Me personally i got an HX40 brand new for 720 shipped and a new BEP.55AR 285 + had to pay someone to re-weld the flapper shut cause BEP sucked at that and MIG welded it. so add another 80 bucks. plus the drain another 100 bucks. now i have a DNP tubular but this is assuming you will use a stock 2g manifold
cost for all NEW holset setup: 1,185 which i think is hella reasonable considering turbos at similar power ratings cost 1000+ for the turbo ALONE and again this is assuming you wanted to go 100% brand new everything. hope this helps with your decision. what i havent included are if you are using non bolt up items; the extra fab/frustration you have to go through with custom pieces.

If i was you, and on a budget is id buy a used holset, try and find one with the BEP already on there for 400 bucks and get the drain and call it a day. bolt that shit up and have happy boosting. Still keep in mind a possible rebuild cost if not buying new.

my quotes are assuming you will be using an internal wastegate of course, if you are using an external tack on an extra 250 to that setup.

Thanks for laying out the options!!Ill tell you exactly what im looking at right now as it is
I found a member who is selling me his setup. He apparently has a t3 manifold with the hx35 with 0 miles because he had it rebuilt. According to him of course
he wants 400 for both

i found a cheaper o2 housing right now LOL
http://www.ebay.com/itm/130545572090?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

wants 115

So im looking at 520 for all 3 not counting a rebuild like you stated so i think that's a pretty good deal right?
If i don't buy the manifold of the person he wants 300 just for the hx35 so i would have to buy bep housing for 285 that sits me at 600 ish.

Their both pretty close in price range and ill get better performance out of my hx35 using t3. I hope i get the deal LOL

Like i said im looking to find other hx35 for sale even put a thread that i want to buy one. Is their a proper want to buy thread looking and searching for people selling theirs!
Also going to put this link to thread with some info on hx35 housings just in case other people come run into this thread.

I forgot to add, Bep only makes external wastegate housings for the hx35 so i would be forced to get a manifold or o2 housing with waste gate.

I dont want to go the mickey mouse route and poke holes on my stock manifold haha

400 for both huh..... and you want EBAY o2 housing.... hes probably about to sell you an ebay manifold. both will end up cracking and you will have to buy a new one. you get what you pay for, thats the most important lesson you can learn. stay away from stuff posted on ebay unless its from a reputable company. and godspeed is not one of those. you will be out much more money if you have to do things over. make sure the holset is genuine also.

On the other hand, if you have a welder and can afford to patch cracked welds be my guest to everything you are saying. i am one of those guys that has a welder and im still not trying to buy cheap stuff cause i have the ability to fix it when it fails. do it right, the first time. it might take a little longer to scrape up the funds but its worth it in the end. i cant tell you how many DSMs i have come across with way more issues just because they cheaped out on their clutch, manifolds, Throw out bearing, Timing tentioners, even pistons and rods from ebay companies. at least your only cheaping out on bolt ons, at least that i know of. it could just be much worse in the long run.

Its a real holset i guess he needs money because he is about to go over seas, as far as the manifold i don't know what brand it is, still waiting to talk to him and if the o2 housing isn't good enough than ill get

Again still searching but this is what im leaning towards at the moment.

I know this is an old thread but I need a little help with my install. I'm trying to find what I will need to put my hx35 on...I've seen a few posts that name this or that, but I'm either not sure what those things are or the posts aren't specific enough that I know whether it's something I might be missing or not. All I have is the holset...What do I need to put it on? I'll be honest, I haven't looked up the things I've seen posted: t3, dnp, bep, etc., coz I want sure what was where and exactly what to hunt for so sorry if I'm wasting your time. Thanks alot!!!

*t3 is the flange style for exhaust manifold to turbine housing.Theres a part about halfway down that explains this here http://www.forcedinductions.com/help.htm
*BEP stands for Bullseye Power and is a company that makes bolt on adaptors for said turbos, meaning you can buy this and bolt the turbo to the stock manifold http://www.extremepsi.com/store/product.php?productid=23481.
*DNP is a company that makes aftermarket manifolds.
*AN is Army/Navy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AN_thread

Just got to read some threads and get used to the acronyms..

So, onto your questions. Well, Urbansmoker made an exact write up you're asking about and posted it in post number 3. I posted a bunch of links to where you can find most of any of those parts in post 7 and gsx22r posted a ton of holset related threads in his post 9.
