Hey guys,
I am thinking of putting an evo8 steering wheel in my 2g. The main purpose is to have the airbag connected and working so I don't have problems with the police checking the car.
I know its not a direct fit and I know I will have to make an adapter, the question is, will I be able to use the oem 2g clock spring?

Not sure about the clock spring on a 2g, but the consensus is to leave the air bag disconnected. They say the differences between airbag systems and delay times are enough to cause more harm then good in an accident. Leave it disconnected and wire a 2 ohm resister to turn off the light.

Yeah I read that, but I bet there is a way to get it connected and working.

Like I said, there is suppose to be different delay times with different systems and you dont want to modify something you have no idea about that is suppose to save your life. If you want to get yourself killed or break all your teeth and worst then go for it.

Ive done this swap and its just a swap with the adaptor and everything else stays! My air bag is attached and wired in like normal.

^ Really? Mine isn't the same at all the plug is different completely and would need significant wiring modification. I've seen on here where someone Did take the 2g connector off the airbag they removed and got it to physically connect with the evo bag in the car, but as mentioned this really isn't a great idea due to changes in the way the system will work in an accident situation. Don't do something that's going to compromise your life in the case of a wreck just for some added aesthetics. Leave it unplugged and buy nice seats and harnesses and do a cage if you're going to be driving the car hard or racing!

Oh apart from the wire which i forgot to say LOL. Thats my bad. I ment it as its a straight swap and the wires can be connected. Sorry should have specified more[DOUBLEPOST=1411934793][/DOUBLEPOST]I took the clip off the the car side and put the 2 pins in the evo bag. I did a write up in here aswell.

I guess I'll leave it disconnected, I'm not a fan of airbags either... since I got one in the face... felt like a fist and smelled like explosive for a month more after the crash...
