hey i have an 91 eclipse gsx 1g 5speed and was wondering if i could just simply buy the 4g63 t engine out of an evo 8 or 9 would it just fit in and bolt right up no problem or is it gonna be to exspensive and not worth it
 
ok if the fact that im posting in the newbie section isnt obvious enough im new to this first boosted car, was told that people where friendly on this site hmmmmm not seeing if what i want to do to my car is pointless guys i am open to suggestions too on better routes know need to shoot me down and i am checking online and posting on dsmtuners why not
 
thank you sir yea i thought so just wanted a second opin. got a couple of buddies with evos its why i went boost but didnt really relize how diff our engines and setups where from the evos hopeing i can get good numbers out of it
 
Not trying to be mean but its clearly in the rules to use the search before asking a question. If you want to build it, keep engine thats in it and search and search to see what can be done, what works well, and whats all entailed and building an engine. First thing to read would be the upgrade path found on this site and go from there. Welcome to the site and sorry if I seem to be coming off harsh
 
its fine is just the car has been negected and its killing me i was suppouse to be getting a car with a built head but engine is messed up and got tried of looking thats why i thought i would just ask somebody what the thought and was thinking why not go with a better engine
 
They are the same engine as the 7bolts but they are flipped 180 degrees so that would put turbo into firewall and intake manifold at front of car. Plus engine and tranny mounts would need to be made. The driveshaft and axles would also need to be swapped and/or altered someway. Its just not worth the time and money. Whats all wrong with your car? Is the engine together so a compression and leak down test can be done?
 
yea car still drives just hadnt been able to really look at it or have it looked at i hear a knocken tho something internal is diff gone and needs to be replaced

I'm not new to the dsm world, even though it says I'm new I'm what you would have called a page stalker. How ever I have a 1991 6 bolt believe it or not in the dsm world the more desirable motor. Tons of people even swap 6 bolts into their 2gs.

There are expensive ways to build reliable and cheaper ways to build reliable parts And all blueprints or "build threads" in detail are here on the forum you can even search classifieds and find good perfomance parts for a good price+ vendors and people offering services. Be careful And be sure to check pricing on parts as some people think used parts are worth almost retail.

My mods list which is changing currently but old set up was

272 cams w/ crower valve train
Arp head studs / obviously LOL
Weisco 9:1 pistons w/eagle rods

Evo 560cc injectors
Maf translator
Super sidemount intercooler
2g exhaust manifold
Ported and clipped 14b 20psi
Full buscher 3 1/2 inch
Shep stage 2 trans
Evo lsd

Currently changing to

Full fmic
Fp manifold<---- great for price
Fpgreen 20g <---- one of the best direct bolton turbos.
Dsmlink v3 so I can run speed density and get mad powa
Upgraded injectors between 660 or 850cc


Also I forgot to include before any one chimes In yes I have a wally 255
