I have always had some sort of pick up in my RCA cables. I have moved them many times and even bought new cables (twisted) and it has helped. But never has diminished entirely. I have a quite high pitch scream. It is worse when I am switched over to FM rather than AUX. It is still there on AUX and I have to play some sort of music just so I can drive in peace... I have currently have the RCAs running from the HU straight back through the middle of the car. The closer to the driver or passenger sides I can hear it change as I move it around in my hand. I am about to order all new shielded speaker wire and re-vamp my whole setup...

You want shielded. A nice set of cables will have this, copper/gold ends are a plus.

Unplug the RCA's do the speakers still do this? I'm assuming you have the RCA"s going to an amp?

My battery/amp cable is going down the passenger side and my rca's right down the middle! Been running like that for 15-16 years and no issues or noise at all! Sounds like a grounding issue? What else is grounded with the radio?

Alright, I have a nice pair of twisted kicker RCAs going down the middle and the power going along the passenger side. I have the HU grounded straight to a bolt on the shifting assembly. Its bare metal, no paint or anything in the way. I have a ring terminal on the ground from the HU that fits snug with the bolt. The amps are grounded to a hole I drilled and then used a wire brush dremel attachment to scrape back the paint and whatnot. I am going to play with it all today. Try to eliminate the whine. If I cant, then Ill just do my best and by a new alternator. The bearing is definitely shot. It screams like a banshee on a cold start up.

I use twisted conductor RCA cables with all 6 sets (FL, FR, RL, RR, SL, SR) in one outer jacket. I have power running down the passenger side and audio signal running on the driver side. The amps are mounted to a wood board, which is mounted to the back of the drivers side rear seat back so that it's not getting making any ground connection except the ground wire.

I aswell run rca through the center and power down the passanger side. Zero issues. My amps in the back and not in stock location
