So i noticed that Midwest Street Cars just posted on thier Facebook page that they are looking for imports to race on the show Saturday night. I know the show is mostly staged but it would be nice to see a DSM beat one of them. What do you guys think?

DUDE thats rad as hell I've been wanting this to happen sooo bad!!! Show is scripted to hell as mentioned and the fake running from cops all the time is almost too much to take but there is enough comedy and bad ass cars to keep me entertained. Sweet to hear they are finally opening it up to the imports, the only one thats been on the show was a hopped up GTR owned and driven by a guy with no clue what he was doing. It got stomped like it was standing still, but these are 1/8 mile races on the street with just a little VHT against big blocks with nitrous or FI that make over 1000hp so anything short of a low 9 sec car probly won't fare well. Even then, I doubt our RWD is enough to hook up like they can even on what we would consider big wide tires.

I've watched a lot of footage from other sources regarding the group that does the show and they are pretty cool guys. There is a good vid on UToob with the yellow mustang (BoostedGT) and the amazing blue Monte Carlo (Street Beast) doing a no-prep race in Texas and cleaning house. The Monte Carlo has a 700+ CI big block plus spray and if the guy could drive it would be pretty impossible to beat in a DSM. I'm all for giving them a run for their money though, all you fast ass guys start sending in requests and lets get it done!

That would be sweet if a import got the number 10 spot... The gtr was not driven by the owner and was on a lower boost setting thats why it didnt do so well

Who is the owner of the white GTR then if its not that Barry guy because they went to find the four guys to have a Round Robin tourney for the 10 spot and he was one of them. They talked about how he was always talking smack about how fast imports are and when he lost and had to hand over the cash he said something about another lesson being learned the hard way. Nothing I saw gave any impression that it wasn't his car, but I will definitely agree that it sure didn't seem to run as hard as it should have for the level of modification they hinted it has. You must have some inside info from Yellow Bullet or another forum I'm guessing if you have the scoop on the car I'd love to hear more about it. Figured the producers didn't want any chance of it winning so they dropped the tune a bit they launch harder in stock form than it did on the show!

They mentioned in one of the other shows a month or so ago that it wasn't his and a shop owned car that they let drive it by Barry. And it was on low boost, and he couldn't drive, but man please someone in that area go out there and put it down, I got money on the trip.

And I don't think a 9 sec would have to be to make it a challenge. The guy that is on top right now, I forget his name, but when his son was going for the number 10 spot they were testing at the track. After his run he told his son it's defenetely a high 10 sec car and can easily give the bottom 5 a challenge. So if he is telling the truth then a 9 sec car would give about half a run for there money. Who knows though, someone just go already .

Um, they are much, much faster than a 10 sec 1/4 mile. Monza's son's Camaro is nothing compared to the juiced up top four or five cars. They are making 1500-2000hp and running 1/8 miles in 4.7 seconds which is high 7/low 8 sec 1/4 mile territory. I agree that Boostin should take a shot at it, but again a RWD with a 30"+ slick on the street is going to hook harder and quicker than any AWD with the slicks we can fit. I would LOVE to see this happen, but the best shot we have of a comparable car would be Kevin Jewer's RWD that runs the sort of times these big domestics do. Last thing they're going to film and actually broadcast is these guy's loosing but at least word would spread through the forums if it happend. The Chicago races that are coming up this season have caused a huge stir since apparantly they actually won a race. Who knows the truth though, others claim that the hometown guys brought a track sprayer and put VHT down the whole track plus torched it. Also rumors that a gun was pulled during an argument, which ended the racing, overall should be more fake/half real drama this year with so much shit talking amongst the redneck hick ass v8 crowd that tries to keep up with them .

If Devin, Kevin, Brent, Buschur, etc. could at least take a shot at these guys I would be thrilled!!! Better write some DSM propaganda emails to Discovery so they seek out a 4g63 platform to film!

If that happens it will be the best set of episodes ever! Lots of blood on the streets

Ha, I didn't bash anyone and the OKC boys would still be doing their thing without the rednecks so my post most certainly would still exist? I grew up at the base of a mountain in the sticks, I am well qualified to identify the redneck hillbilly's that Yellow Bullet is chalk full of and if you are going to argue that they aren't hicks then I don't know what to say! I'm not hateful at all, just pointing out the fact that this season the producers are making every effort to get as much back woods livin' bootleg liquor brewing cousin' humpin' smack talk as they can on film against the protagonists. Never happen. It'll be a repeat of Pinks All Out in NY with the 4G63T Elantra. It was stomping everyone in its class, then got told to go home because the car wasn't pretty enough to be on television. Same thing will happen if the Red Demon or any of the world's fastest DSMs show up. They'll make up some excuse about how their cars aren't good enough for t.v. and send them packing. It'll be more FWD Hondas and 11 second Evos that show up just to get curb stomped so they can parade around and brag about how no import can even hang and all the usual V8 propaganda.

^ Agreed 100% although I still don't know if any of our tops guys could hang. Read more last night about several of the cars and had heard them talk about "getting up to 150mph" before thinking they were just referencing going fast but they legitimately meant 150mph 1/8 miles. Even though Sean and the Murder Nova crapped out in his Drag Week appearance a few years back the car still moves out and is a sub-8 second car. This year for DW the GTO "Crow" that Big Chief (show's main figure) is on the list and the Murder Nova is on the waiting list. They are still a few weeks out I think so that may change, but I'm guessing that there is problems between the networks. Discovery and Hot Rod or Speed or whoever broadcasts the DW racing are assuredly clashing and trying to decide who gets what footage and who can broadcast what. Wish they would stay out of it and let the racers do their thing.

By the numbers, both the GTO and Nova could be seriously competitive if they can hold together, but 1500 street miles on cars like that is a real test. Don't know if they were actually built for it, but that is for sure an area that our cars would still do well at! Be fun to see Boostin' rolling around shifting gears like a man vs. all the Powerglides and Lencos hahaha.

We've got some big power big tire cars in central Florida that absolutely get stomped in no prep races on the street by AWD DSMs. Ostar performance was making an absolute killing against much faster cars with their 9 sec 1G. 4XX ci, 90mm turbo tube-chassis f-body for example. When I'd start to worry is if they go to lay down the pimp juice and start heavily prepping. Their cars on kill are high 7 second 1/4 beasts(if they had the gearing for it) but that's on a track. On the street they detune in order to keep the cars on the street. There's a guy on these forums that are close personal friends with all of the OKC boys, I think his name is Quest...something. Has a Teal 2GB Talon he's building up as a race car. I've met a few in person and picked their brains as well. If a properly built AWD DSM showed up they could hand out a serious ass kicking unless they wanted to start prepping and putting down chemicals and burning them. For that matter any kind of well built AWD that showed up would hand out an ass kicking with a proper driver...but they'd never let their big dog V8 "MURIKA!" cars get beaten by an import. Never.



Honestly though the two I think that'd be the hardest to beat are Sonoma and Monza. Those cars are set up almost entirely to run solely on the street and do their jobs well.


But, I'd be willing to put money down that all that shows up are FWD Honda hatches gutted out w/ slicks, and an occasional Evo/GTR.

I've been thinking the same things, and I agree that not only would it be a challenge (with 3x less displacement) but they are all about no prep. Someone needs to call them out for fun. I know buschurs bad bish with the clutch less 4 speed on slicks stands a dam good chance. And that's a true street car, stm and ams, curt Brown etc. I say someone who knows one of them p.m's them about it. Represent the mitsu!

I don't think they want any real import competition, Is tv show after all, but my vote is for cdub's 4g mustang, Boostin, or the TRC Evo from utube or ETS 1000+ evo. Those should make for an interesting matchup.
