Little bastard children shot my rear driver side window out earlier playing with a bb-gun. Their dad says he will pay. Just wondering what a reasonable price would be to have it replaced. 1g
 
I lost a lot of glass due to vandalism to my 91 Eclipse base vehicle about three years ago. Glass included, windshield, driver's door glass rear quarter glass and hatch glass.

Went to a yard and pulled all four off of a busted up 1g. Cost: $95 bucks including a hatch complete with good glass.

I was kinda thinking about the junk yard too. I could for sure find the glass there. But i've never pulled or installed a window that needed glue
 
Pick out a really hot day to do that. The heat will soften the adhesive up and will make the glass much easier to remove. If the day is not so hot then your best tool would be either a piano wire with handles or a sharp flexible knife to cut the adhesive. Work from the inside of the car. Would have to remove an interior trim panel, but that's pretty easy.
To remove just snap off the trim, unscrew trim clips, and carefully pull away the window. Should be able to practice (at least trim removal) on your car since there is no glass there to break.

As far as price goes, Pull-a-part would charge about $15-$25 for the glass, depending on if they call it a "glass vent" or a "quarter glass".

To attach the window to your car you will need a strip of windshield adhesive (try to find that stuff that looks like a rope, not one in a tube). Clean off the old adhesive, apply the strip of new stuff where old stuff was, ans stick the glass on top. Apply some wax paper to the strip first so that it won't stick immediately (peel away the wax paper while holding glass in place, kinda like applying a decal). Re-install trim clips and trim and you are done.

Reason for rope instead of tube is that rope does not really dry, where as stuff in the tube does and even if you cap the tube chances are that all of it will harden in a short while. Also the rope is not as messy as the tube. Still, won't want to get it on anything that is not meant to be glued.

I took a kitchen knife to cut my replacement side window from a busted up DSM and paid 10 bucks for the glass.

Trick is to have a caulking gun and buy a tube of window urethane from a body shop.

the trim moulding around the glass is quite easy to remove, but be careful in removal for that trim can easily bend .. and don't lose the clips.

You get the old glass out of your vehicle and clean the surfaces of broken glass, but you don't remove the urethane from your vehicle, for you can reuse that urethane.

The glass you picked up, is where you get kerosene, mineral spirits or paint thinner and clean off the urethane completely from that glass.

You lay down a new, but good sized bead of urethane all around on the glass and mate it to the remaining urethane on the vehicle. Take black tape to hold down the glass to let the new urethane "age and set" for 24 hours.

After the 24 hrs, remove tape and put back on the trim.

Windshields are a PITA to where I let a windshield shop do that replacement, but door glass and side glass are easy to do.

You're good to go.

I think you are confusing a glass ribbon sealer with urethane sealer. The urethane gets very hard and has to be cut out. What is on the rear glass is an a butyl rubber based sealer that keeps a tar like consistency. For the rear glass the 3m round ribbon sealer works great.
 
Thx for the correction. Got the info from a body shop who sold me the tube of urethane instead of the butyl rubber compound to replace the glass on my vehicle. Granted though - the glass that I had to replace on my vehicle was held in by the tar like compound making the task easy.
 
I do automotive window replacement for a living an the side glass on a 1g is budled in so like the guy said on a good hot day they'll pretty much come out with easy remove the trim an there should be acouple pieces of plastic with screws remove those an just be easy with it. an with budle u don't need the primers or activators like a normal windshield just clean the surface an the window its self should have a guide to put the new budle in place
 
I have a set of the rear windows, I don't know how hard it would be to ship but just throwing it out there if you can't locate any
