Hey I'm new to the DSM world, I moved up to DSM from Audi ;) LOL Anyways I bought a 1998 eclipse gs-t 4g63 and I want to make 350-400whp+!! I have it completely down to the block, and i'm doing a full gasket set and timing job, waterpump, new rings and bearings and having everything cleaned thoroughly! But I have no idea what more I need! Mods I have now: Full catless 3" exhaust and downpipe, Greddy BOV, 16g Turbo with ram horn manifold, FMIC, AEM Boost gauge and AEM A/f Gauge. What more? LOL I'd appreciate any help I can get with this build/partslist I need! I wish I could have it dynoed to see how much HP I have now?! (well when it was assembled) But i'm far from a dyno :( Does anyone have any idea what'd i'd be at now for hp? The boost is stock. Thank you very much! and sorry if i asked the same ?s that have already been answered. I just like to get new input and ideas!

Add a fuel pump, injectors, boost controller, and a link to it. I can tell you that with a regular 16g you won't hit 400whp. So if you are dead set on a number that high you might want to look into other options for a turbo.

Stock block/head can get you to 350-400. However, while the head is out, I would install some new valve springs. I highly recommend Brian Crower springs as they are stock replacement yet have considerably more seat pressure.

I think the biggest requirement at this point is fuel upgrades and a tuning solution. If you plan on running e85, keep this in mind when choosing your injectors and pump.

Also, you'll be needing a clutch if it's manual trans. Southbend gets my vote!

Awesome ok, how can I tell what kind of 16g it is? and what size injectors will I need? I'm not dead set on 400whp, i'm dead set on beating my brothers 93 Bishi VR4 tho haha[DOUBLEPOST=1409157258][/DOUBLEPOST]Do I have to use a dsm link? or can I go with a Apexi safc 2 for now? Or I read something about an ECU Flash? I'm building an actual 4g63 for this on the side :) just want my dd right now to be pretty fast!

Can't speak for the apexi, I've just always used a link. the nice thing about it is you can find some people on here who might be willing to help you out with a tune and all they have to do is email you the tune file for you to try out. For injectors, at least 550 or 650 if you want a little wiggle room down the road. Unfortunately the easiest way to tell the difference between a b16g and a regular 16g is by taking off the compressor housing and looking at the wheel. The b16g is larger on the output side of the wheel.
***Edit***
I hadn't seen c2ypt1c's post when I replied. Yes, if you plan on running e85, you'll want even larger injectors than what I said.

Well because it's a 98, you'll have a black-box ecu so you could go this route:

I forgot to mention, you'll also want some ARP headstuds with a good headgasket (I prefer felpro).

I second this route. This is what I'm running now.

Here's another post you should read after the first thread posted above. Man, I miss CEDDY!!

I would grab link v3 full, upgrade to a 20g get some 1050 1650cc injectors, wal 255 or 450 fuel pump, manual boost controller and south bend clutch set, sounds like you have a wb on the list but pick up an oil pressure gauge and boost gauge too. Get a vrsf fmic and get to tuning. Those numbers are easily achievable on stock block and head but like mentioned above, a set of 272 cams and BC springs and retainers make your HP goal easier to achieve. Either learn yo tune or get tuned by a reputable tuner and not someone trying to etune your car for $50 bucks. Good luck on the build!

Which is better for tuning? DSMLINK or the ECU flash?!

It really comes down to money. If your budget allows for it, ECMLink hands down! Otherwise, ECUFlash is the next best thing. I personally would go with ECUFlash only because you already have a black-box and your power goals are well within it's capability.

+1 These vids are pretty nice even if you don't use ECUFlash

you can tell what 16g it is by looking up the serial number on the turbo or look at the compressor wheel itself if their are two sets of "fins" in their it is most likely a big 16g

Thanks a lot guys now I just have to find me some injectors! I just installed a Whalbro 255, was it just supposed to fit right in? LOL It just fit right in without a "kit" that everyone talks about? And do I absolutely need a FPR?

And I checked and it has 2 sets of fins. So its a big 16g i think.

1250cc injectors would be great for e85 or alky injection... thats what size i have check out FIC also (Fuel Injector Clinic) a 20g would get you there but many people are running the gt35r so it all depends on how much you want to spend. id get some good ignition stuff too plugs coils etc. walbro 255 will be good tho ... also arp head studs and built tranny and just supporting stuff

Awesome thanks guys! Which is better for tuning? DSMLINK or the ECU flash?!

I've never used link but from what I've researched it seem to be the easiest to learn and tune, mainly because there is tons of support for it as opposed to ECU flash. I went with flash because of budget and I already had everything I needed so why not, you just need to dedicate time to reading and researching.[DOUBLEPOST=1409515731][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yea, taught me a whole lot about tuning in general!
