This is my 95 Eclipse Gsx when i purchased it when i was 16. Drove it for 2 weeks and the center diff let go and took that trans with it, 6 months later i saved enough for a stage 4 tre trans. over the course of the 2 years i owed this car i added, dsmlink v2, fic 650cc injectors, walbro 190lph pump, evo 3 16g, 1g bov, autometer boost oil and water temp gauges, the racing harts where sold and shortly after the car was aswell.

6 years later and the car had passed through 2 owners but had never been running or seen the road since i sold it. A friend of mine acquired it for a trade for a jetta and was planning on getting it running but soon gave up and offered to sell it to me stating that if was to be crushed if i didn't buy it. Well he gave me a good deal on it and i had it trailered to my house.

The car was in shambles, interior was completely taken apart with broken trim and missing hardware. under the hood it was missing all the belt pulleys, timing plastics, radiator fans, radiator hoses drivers side motor mount, and had a complete mess of abs pipe and plumbing couplers connecting the side mount. The Gauges where gone as was the Evo 16G, but the TRE trans and dsmlink along with most of my other mods remained.

So began the process of getting parts to start the car and see what was really wrong this went on for 3-4 months and finally came the day to start the 7 bolt. And when it did start that was very clearly a rod knocking from cylinder 1 (My guess is its from sitting with the head off for 6 years as it didn't have a knock when i sold it and hadn't been ran since i owned it) oil and oil filter where full of shavings confirming this.

That same day after the car was found to be a knocker, i found a 6 bolt long block minus a few pieces for $75 in some guys barn and promptly purchased it and brought it home and tore it down.

188170-777bf5903b7080841efabafcab5298c6.jpg

T25 bearing found in 7 bolt oil pan from when i blew the t25 around 6 years ago...

I don't have a picture but the rod bearing on cylinder 1 was so gone that the piston was touching the head and cleaning the carbon off of the head with the lip around the top of the piston..........could have ended badly all other bearings looked fine upon disassembly.

Evo Vs. 2G piston for comparison (Not my pic)

The block was soon dropped off at a local machine shop and was bored .020 over and the crank was polished along with a full inspection and hot tank. ARP hardware was used for the head studs, main studs and rod bolts, 6 bolt rods where machined to take the wrist pin of the .020 over evo 9 pistons.
My 2g head was reworked with the valves lapped new valve stem seals and new lifters (not revised). the rest of the parts where ordered including a new oem oil pan rear main seal plate, timing plastics, 1g cas,Balance Shaft Eliminator, straight cut oil pump gears timing components, cometic head gasket, acl tri-metal race bearings, head oil passages mod was preformed and the 2g head was machined for the 6 bolt head studs ext and before long it was time to install.

autometer ultra-lite boost and oil pressure gauges a Innovate MTX-L wideband where installed. Red led bulbs where installed in the autometers soon to be installed in the gauge cluster and rest of the interior.

And As the muffler of the old exhaust had rusted off and that the old exhaust was a hack job of a oem downpipe welded into a 3in cat then welded to a 2.5in transition then to a 3in catback. It was replaced with a 3in SRS catback and a 3in Megan downpipe.

1388053_10201032003937964_1609083056_n.jpg

Install was uneventful and everything when smoothly engine was primed Prothane mounts where installed and the 14B turbo i sourced was installed along with the side mount with the nightmare piping. Set Dsmlink for injector size ect and it was time to start. Started fine idled good followed ams break in recommendations however upon the first drive the tach started jumping around and the car kept dying when it was warmed up. A quick search on here and i found i had a bad power transistor, trip to the parts store and the car was running well and the break in was under way. Break in went well and the car was tuned for wastegate pressure even at only 10psi the jury rigged side mount set up had to go.

After Dealing with the side mount popping couplers and such i decided to order a Punishment FMIC.

399842_2619964294053_111751657_n.jpg

And before it arrived i came across a set of 2gb bumpers and a good hood at a junk yard(so i can ditch the hood pins) along with a set of decent headlights.

Test fitting the 2gb front with the evo x license plate bracket and the non fog bezels i would use for my fog lights.
Stenciled ETS on the core because there the best local shop and i like the way it looks.

Home Depot Lip installed using 1in fender washers and 10mm bolts one side of the washers was ground flat so the washers didn't stick out past the bumper causing bumps in the lip.

Sanded and prepped for paint. Paint is from automotive touch up i used 1 pint ready to spray color and 1 pint ready to spray clear(not enough clear but close). And a urethane rattle can primer was used from napa.

And finished product well actually a band-aid until the entire car gets painted but looks good for right now. Paint is really close not perfect but very close and 1 pint clear is not enough for the front bumper just FYI.

Did a minor wire tuck and relocated the fuse box during the FMIC install. The Punishment bov had a spring removed and the diaphragm changed and now holds 35+psi during a BLT, and have never had a problem with it in over a year of running it. The Ebay tubular manifold was next to go cracking at the turbo flange 3/4 around and about 1/4in wide. This was replaced with a 2g ported oem manifold. and the filter was changed.
188165-5a50f029de399102de2e42d2887fb482.jpg

My $7 carbon mini antenna was added because that stock one was long gone and needed to plug the hole.

Black zinc plated rotors from Advance Brake Technology and Ceramic pads where installed (price was great and the quality has been excellent over a year and zero problems and i tend to be hard on my brakes). The calipers where also repainted fresh cast on the pad bracket and red on the caliper no pic available.

PIC Coming Soon
Soon after the brakes that alternator died and i opted for a 100amp saturn alternator and after a couple attempts successfully made a tensioner bracket out of a turn-buckle that stays tight and is easy to tighten. after the install the power locks started to work again and windows didn't take forever, the srs light went off among other things highly recommended.

Also purchased what was suppose to be a Punishment O2 housing used for $30 which i think is actually just a ebay recirc o2 housing was installed this to fix the down pipe leaking from the flange on the oem o2 housing being to small for the megan down pipe flange. little under a year a still going strong with no cracks.

10257512_10202301032422883_6594666138910313499_n.jpg

Also bought this for dirt cheap from a guy who sold his dsm, came with a 4in extreme psi coupler and t bolts. will be sitting on the shelf until the SD conversion is done.

The rear spoiler was removed next and another band-aid applied until the car is painted. plastic interior plugs where purchased and painted with a color match rattle can and installed with clear rtv to prevent leaks. Quite pleased with the results (looks alot better than in the pic they just got waxed and havent been cleaned yet). Much better than the stock low rise that was peeling and turning black.

Rally Armor flaps where installed i'm still not sure about the placement been playing with it. I bought the entry level flaps to play around with fit before committing $$$ for the urethane flaps. More functional than anything as i live in a tiny logging town with horrible nasty dirty roads and these keep my car 100% cleaner than without also why i decided to let them stick out a little bit.

Found a kid locally selling a 2G Magnus SMIM for a stupid low price and jumped on it. my buddy hooked me up with a 1g throttle body and i did the swap. Had to mess with the intercooler piping and move the battery down on to the frame rail but eventually everything came together. My 14b now doesnt drop boost it stays at the set pressure and holds until redline except over 20psi the it will slowly fall back to 20psi, havent had a change to dyno or anything to see the actual difference but im pleased with just what i can tell from driving the car and could beat the price. Only picture i had more coming soon.

Filled the car with e85 today. I'm very impressed with how much faster the car is and how much more tiing i can run on the same boost pressure. switching the tune was fairly easy and the 650cc are well below the 90% max duty cycle that FIC recommends.I would be running it a lot more often but the closest pump is hour away so special occasions ect it will have to be. Absolutely horrible to start in the cold literally takes me 5 mins to get the car started when cold (its been 10 degrees around here) E85 is definitely summer fuel unless there is some trick or something that i'm missing that can make cold starts easier.

Found a deal on a PTE-5252e 60-1 with a unknown history paid almost nothing for it and took a gamble although i'm sure the turbine housing alone is worth what i paid. Just so happens the turbine wheel had something hit it and chipped the blades knocking if off balance and destroying the turbine seal grove in the bearing housing so i began shopping for parts and purchased a new 10 blade p trim garrett turbine shaft and a new oil and water cooled garrett bearing housing. along with a genuine garrett rebuild kit and a step gap turbine seal ring the turbo has been balanced and fully rebuilt all they way down to the thrust spring and bolts for substantially less than the $500 these cost when they where new let alone what a comparable turbo costs today.

Pictures of the new bearing housing and compressor housing mocked up with my FP intake i picked up a while back. Taking it slow with the install i have a 0.08 restrictor and a 4an feed line, I'am upgrading to v3 link as soon as i can arrange the downtime for the car to go along with my SD sensor bundle.

188212-793231e1e3ba039ec49fbc5612036d0f.jpg

Also traded a friend my walbro 190lph for a FP 255lph pump out of his 1g.

Still need quite a bit of stuff to install the new turbo but its getting there.

Today i did the Free Fiav Blockoff found here
http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/free-fiav-block.391977/
Totally worth it brought down my intake temp around 10 degrees according to dsmlink, car idles perfect not hard to start in the cold as i feared it would be highly recommended free mod. Also installed Mil-spec shaft seals and new gaskets along with sand blasting and cleaning the entire throttle body totally worth the time car seems to idle and cruise a lot smoother now.
Stock photo pics coming soon.

After the turbo install the next thing to go is the hood pins either by a carbon hood or respraying the white oem hood i have, Then i plan on installing prothane bushings and powder coating the suspension and undercoating the body of the car. The entire car will be sprayed when i get the engine bay how i want it and can shave it before respraying and decide and find a pair of either 2gb skirts or 2ga talon twistys the rear will be 2gb eclipse and i am yet undecided on leaving the grey turbo strip or not.

Panoramic shot i took outside my buddys house not a fwd in the bunch

wags122 updated Saved My Old GSX From The Crusher

View updates to this DSM profile...[DOUBLEPOST=1407506479][/DOUBLEPOST]Finally sent my v2 off for the v3 upgrade and switched to speed density at the same time with a omni gm style 4 bar map and a gm iat sensor. Car has never ran better or been easier to tune very happy.

Ignore my custom catch can LOL it hasn't been a priority at the moment need to get on that though.

Thank you! No I didnt I used a pack of gm interior clips from autozone and sprayed them with color match paint then sealed them with a little bit of clear rtv, you can see the pics of them in the third post from the top. I just did this as a bandaid because the whole car is getting resprayed by the end of the summer and the oem wing was showing primer pretty bad on the end caps.

Well i blew my transfer case a couple months ago, i guess you could say that it failed. Was on my was to visit some family and came around a blind corner and there was a big beer bottle or wine bottle in the middle of the road with a truck coming in the other lane and a 6-7 foot ditch on the other side i choose the bottle.
it passed under the front bumper and intercooler then exploded under the car, the only sound i can think of was a hand full of bb's thrown at a tin roof. Despite this the car ran fine to my sisters and got back within 30 minutes of home a i get a shudder and bad vibration under the center arm rest. Car get flat bedded home then i proceeded to try to find the problem but could not find one finally got fed up and drove it and it was gone no problems for about another week. on the way to meet my wife who was in labor with my baby boy (which is why it took me so long to fix it and update this profile) the t-case decided it had enough. Luckily i was within 10 minutes of the hospital when this happened, and a even more fortunate turn of events would land my car a stay at my brother in laws sprint car shop which as luck would have it was 4 blocks from where the t case let go. Sorry for the long post but it was quite the ordeal. Anyways here the carnage
