Around late last year I was looking for a ECMLink tune and was referred to member Chicken Patty for a good tune. Went ahead and got in contact with him about a tune. Told me a few things I needed including a good wideband. Went out and purchased that and tried myself installing it. Send him a good chunk of money for 2 tunes. Walking me through checking everything in ECMLink he and I noticed my wideband didn't match my ecmlink. So being the first time I ever installed a wideband or messed with ecmlink and being in the US Navy with not much time on my hands to spend lots of time on the car I told him Ill get back to him when I get it fixed. So, so far all I got is a base tune from him and a few emails and messages. Few months later when I got a bunch of time to pull everything and re install it and try and get everything matching I contacted him back up and still stuck he told me he could not tune it because it still wasn't matching correctly and with dropping $2.5k in a rebuild trans, new flywheel and clutch in my other car and a good amount for these tunes I wasn't in a rush to drop money on a proper install of a wideband I told him Id get back to him. Well more than half a year since I paid and emails and a few text messages later I just said fk it Ill just ask to get a real good 93 tune and hopefully a partial refund until I get proper time for a real tune and install fully the wideband but when I contacted him by email no reply. Waited some time and emailed him again and still no reply. Went ahead and texted him and still nothing. I understand his time is as important as mine and I know I wasted some time of his and may of been a headache but I think I deserve something out of it at least a reply. I don't have lots of time like most people being in the navy and with my scheduled and how things came up. Now opinions of what you would do in my place. I'm not a total d**k head or going to blow his phone or email up every other day but would love some advice. Thanks for reading!

Being a former active military, and a dsm onwer with link and the debilitating inexperienced of tuning I can tell you I understand. But you cant really hold it against the tuner that you have been busy defending freedom and spreading democracy one tow missle at a time. Best bet is never give up. Im just now learning to use link cause my 2ģ collected dust while I was stuck in formation or on deployment. Just move forward, read and execute. And get a good wb, not aem I have one and I want to stab my eyes out. Good luck

Aem widebands are not bad, i have one myself and have been getting tuned by my1gdsm. He wont let you down when it comes to the tuning procedure.

He can also guide you with tips and how tos. He knows his stuff and would recommending him for tuning and guidance. Email him: [email protected]

Also, just be clear on your availability. He really is a professional and will take care of you.

The calibration of the wideband and ecmlink should be guided by the tuner as well. My1gdsm will help you out and give you results.

Thanks for the replies. Guy still yet to reply to anything of mine.

and thanks 915dsm I messaged him and we've been talking about a tune.

Have you posted in ecmlink forums yet?

Set up of wideband was easier then I thought.. I have an aem uego and it wasn't reading on link what the gauge was saying.

To set it up as "linear wideband" there are write ups on ecmlink homepage and a video on youtube. Follow those (video was easier for me)

The only thing i will add was a tip I got from jery1234 on ecmlink forums)

to get 14.7:1 af ratio volts , easiest way is. With car cold unplug the wideband sensor from harness and then turn ignition on but dont start it and log the voltage... load that reading into the "max volts"

And to get the 10:1. Af ratio volts unscrew the sensor from its location, plug it into the harness again.

Wrap the sensor in a gas soaked rage (I used 93oct as thats what run) turn the ignition back on (dont start car) and log... as soon as the sensor reads 10/1...turn car off. The 02 sensor gets really hot so best to shut it off and remove the rag asap.

Then just load that voltage reading in the min voltage.

For me my linear wideband settings ended up as:
Min volt - .16
Min lambda - .68 (got this from the video for 10:1 af)
Max volts - 2.41
Max lambda - 1.00 (got from video for 14.7:1 af)

Also if using narrowband simulation:
Click on "nb02 SIM" tab under the "direct access"
and for "wb switch point" load what ever your "max volts" reading is... (for me it is 2.41)

Once the wideband is set up your tuner can then tune with reliable data.

Best of luck
