I have found in the two years I have been SERIOUSLY looking, that they are either at price comparable to a 1/4oz of gold, or they have seen six thousand too many curbs in their day, and they still want a couple bills for it... broken tabs, cracks, deep scrapes, cut for some intercooler you don't own. Its been sad on my end for a while.

A nice quality replica minus the talon badge location, $200-$250 all day for me. Maybe more depending on the material and quality of a tested unit from an outside proprietor from the oem model.

I know its a ton of work, but quality oem bumpers arr getting scarce, and the guys that have them can't predict when something will happen to their pristine piece of oem sexyness. Then they will be in my boat... is the huge premium for a 17 year old bumper worth it? Or the $75 2gb eclipse bumper? Or, a realistic new bumper price of a couple hundred bucks?

the problems are
1. there werernt alot produced so they are already rare
2. like you said most of them are destroyed because owners dont know how to park so there are only a handful that are actually in good condition.
thats why people charge an arm and a leg for a good condition one

Interested as well, but will [at least] need to see a rendering of the end product

How about brand new Talon bumpers? Then I'd have my wish, plus have a reason to buy your lip kit as well.
You can still buy OEM front Talon bumpers from places like JNZ. They're not cheap, but they are authentic OEM and will almost certainly fit better than any aftermarket fiberglass piece.

How many people would Actually be willing to put a deposit?
I think you'll have to post a rendering of what it would look like before you get a good sampling of who would buy one.

For $600 unpainted, I think ill play the waiting game. I'd have to take out a second insurance policy on that bumper alone if it were on my car, since it would be worth just as much as the rest of it.

It's $426 without shipping. Assuming a comparable fiberglass version comes unpainted and shipping costs are the same you stand to save a couple hundred bucks, but they usually always require some finishing work to make fit right. So if you have to pay a body shop to finish it and install it (which the place you buy it from will likely suggest) you might be up in that price range anyway.

I seriously doubt anyone is going to ever offer a factory replica 2gb Talon front bumper cover. The demand in terms of volume just isn't there since most DSMers prefer the Eclipse bumper cover. The shop making it available likely wouldn't get their investment back on it knowing they'd have to price it low enough to attract DSMers.

Maybe Extreme Dimensions can develop a lower lip that can hide the common damage the 2Gb Talon bumpers usually have.

Yeah, I figured all that :thumb: I knew it wasn't a viable option. I just initially threw it out there as a joke for those who dont have a talon bumper, but want an affordable one... and then we could also purchase this unseen product for a cool lip. I was just threw out $600 because it says minimum shipping is $125, but most likely more.

Its all good, not being a cheap azz about it. I'd just rather spend that kind of money on link and wait for a better deal on a used talon cover down the road.

I wouldn't want a fiberglass bumper anyhow. Even if I drove it perfectly, here in utah it would be destroyed in a year, guaranteed.

Totally understandable. It's tough prioritizing purchases, and it sucks seeing the OEM parts getting harder to find.

Take everyone who has said they are "so down for this lip" and divide it by 4 and thats the total amount that might actually come through with buying it.

I'd be in for a 2gb talon lip. The eclipse one would fit the talon bumper if it was a little narrower, if you look in the group buy thread I posted pics of the same kind of lip on my talon.

For what it's worth, regardless of the vehicle, it's always bothered me that the majority of front lips lower the front bumper to where it doesn't flow well with the rest of the body line(starting from the side skirts to the higher clearance of the rear bumpers.) Sure the lips look great when only looking at the front bumper, but when you look at the rest of the car as a whole, most of them never look or flow well.
