My turbo came with a 90 degree elbow but my intercooler piping is setup for a down firing turbo. Does anybody know of a place that sells a straight adaptor piece instead of a 90 degree elbow? If I cut the elbow off I don't think there will be enough room to put on a coupler.

You're gonna have to bite the bullet and take that to a good welder. Thats the only way i would go, aside from buying a brand new comp cover, and thats gonna cost a whole lot more than a weld and a 2" long piece of pipe

How much coupler straight area would there be if you cut the elbow off as far down the elbow as possible? 1", 2", or less? 1-2" then cut it off and put a silicone coupler on. Less then you either need to get another cover or have the 90 cut off and a straight welded on. Maybe put a WTB ad on here for a cover. That might be cheaper than having a welder add a piece of pipe and it would look nicer.

There would be less then one inch. Do you know where you can buy a straight piece or what would work for a straight? I can only find 90 degree elbows. I was thinking I can cut off the flared end of the 90 degree elbow and have that welded on. That would give me enough room for the coupler, probably about 1.5 inches of room.

Sounds like you have a plan right there. Cut straight :sneaky: Whoever your having weld it may be who you should talk to about what to get to weld on there. They may even have some aluminum tube laying around.

I might have just solved my problem, I am going to try and use and cut a 2g throttle body elbow to make my turbo downfire. I hope it works and if it does I will post some pictures.

I went with my first idea and cut the end off the 90 degree elbow and had it welded back on. I hope the weld is good enough. This was a weld from a guy that my friend worked with. He also welded my BOV flang. I got it done cheap, all he wanted was a 12 pack of Amstel light for the welds.LOL Here are some pics....
