So yesterday my lower balljoint pasanger side broke on the expressway i had it towed to my shop while i was at work. WHAT A MISTAKE! They completly destroyed my car. First they tore the bumper off the car they trashed my greddy fmic broke my fiberglass/carbon hood what a great day. Thaught it was bad enough to replace low control arm and balljoint wheel and tire but now this! And they backed it into my building and messed up back bumper.

Pics start before and lead up to the big problems. Looks like my car had a stroke after they got ahold of it!

Sorry about the length. It looked like a teachable moment, so to speak!

Flatbed drivers just want to run the cable and bridle straight under the front of the car. In this case, not good. Sometimes you have to use the pulley to run the cable off to the side of the bed, so you can bring the cable out near the tire. Like I said, a flatbed can be a problem sometimes.

You say the car was towed to the in laws shop?
So you know said shop well I assume : )
Was it their regular tow company that the shop uses?
If so they have far more power here then you do to apply pressure the the tow co. if they're @ fault.
Actual in all the years the tow companies I deal with are decent. If it was damaged by them they would accept fault & rectify it.
If it is the tow companies commercial account (repair shop) they likely do the right thing not to loose the account.

Also I know for a fact when we get cars towed in like this we are looking at the car before it's even off the truck.
The people at the shop say the car arrived like this?

Any competent tow operator would have lifted the car with a jack.
Then repositioned the wheel back in the wheel well.
And possibly with a chunk of 2x4/4x4 in there hold the corner up.
Damage to the axle & whatever else a board in there to hold weight is not gonna hurt.
Then use a go jack under the affected wheel & pull it onto the bed.

Looks like they put the end of the flatbed under the bumper & lifted the car. That's what did the FMIC/bumper cover damage.
They have insurance they're just reluctant to make claims on it.

Yeah this was gonna be a hard tow for sure. If you zoom in on the picture of it on side of road with broken ball joint, looks like there is already some damage to the fmic. However the rest that the tow truck did was some bs.

I got my car towed through my insurance company i pay an extra 20 a month for stupid things that may happen being we drive a dsm its a good idea LOL so the shop has nothing to do with the tow and there wasnt a person at the shop when it got there they close at 5pm which is the time when the tow truck driver got to the car and drive an hour to the shop amd yes the fmic had one small spot right in the center not bad at all maybe lifted a 16th now its garbage

ive done this several times and never one issue i left my built 1g to get towed before and it was lowered and had big n1 muffler and was zero damage to the car

I totally understand where you are coming from, but I have seen way too many underpaid, overworked, and underskilled tow truck drivers out there to risk one of them damaging something I have put so much time/effort/money into.

So what should i ask for from the tow company im thinking 1000$ for new fmic new bumper new hood and radiator

Not that i care to buy that greddy core new i would go vrsf amd hood i didnt really like it was so flimsy and bumper could be used again but why when they broke it and can get a new one

Im thinking making them pay me more will maybe teach them to be more careful next time

You should ask for the full cost (parts + estimated labor). Don't forget paint for the hood and bumper. Always ask for more than you're expecting to get because they'll probably try to work the price down anyway. You can settle for less.
