I am about to cry here. Car has been up on a jack for 3 DAYS! All I am trying to do is replace my t-25 with a 14b... 3 DAYS!!! Before I get hate...I am a newb... I can rightfully declare it now. I thought I knew what I was doing until this point and time in my cars life. This is a DD that I depend on that I f***ed up. SO I REALLY NEED HELP ASAP!!! This is going to take 4 days plus on a project that should have taken 6 hours. f***.

The good:

I have transferred the o2 housing, water lines, and bolted on the J-pipe (with homemade gasket).

What I f***ed up:

-The oil return line bolts don't fit. NOBODY had this on any of the install guides. The bolts from the turbo to the line are MUCH SMALLER on the 14b than the t-25! I don't have these!!!

-The SS oil feed line I bought locally at a performance shop. I don't have the correct sizes/shapes of connectors. I got an adapter to go from SS line to the oil feed off the filter so that's good. But I do not have an adapter to go from the SS line to the turbo side. HOW THE f*** DO I CONNECT THIS SS LINE TO A FREKIN BANJO LINE?!?! I tried taking off the whole oil feed line and installing the SS adapter I have into the turbo and it was the wrong size apparently. It fit fine I thought until It stripped...Just randomly got loose as I was tightening it (wasnt even tight yet)! That "f*** me" moment.

-The lower water line didn't seem to fit well in the engine bay when bolted back up, and then back to the "HOW DO I F*$@#$ CONNECT THIS TO A F*#@% BANGO SOCKET?!?!" So I unbolted it and cut off a good section with my dremel. Have to get 3/8 heater hose to go from the lower water line to the engine I believe.

-My dads garage. He does know it yet but there are random oil spots EVERYWHERE under the car... I am so f***ed on this project... ALL BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO BUY AN INSTALL KIT FOR $200!!!

To connect the oil feed line, you were on the right track - you completely remove the stock fitting and replace it with a 12 x 1.25mm-to-4an adapter (or whatever size your ss line end is). Sounds like your inlet thread size was wrong...no big deal, get the correct adapter:

For the oil drain bolts they are M6 x 1.00, 16mm in length:

^these will probably do the trick, or you could pick em up at your local hardware store...

For the water lines, it sounds like you got it covered, but if worst-comes-to-worst, you could remove the lines altogether and not run any.

You're not screwed, just overwhelmed...we've all been there.

Don't feel too bad, I was 190 miles from home last night and out of nowhere I heard a buzzing sound. I couldn't figure out what the sound was so I decided to get off at the exit but a car was next to me and I missed the exit. About 500 feet later my engine completely detonated. My number 4 rod is broken in half. I had no check engine light, no low oil dummy light, nothing. I hitchiked a ride to the nearest town I have a friend in and I'm stranded on the complete opposite side of the state. Good times are being had by me. Did mention the part where I had to put my car out because it was on fire too?

man on my very first n/t talon, at age 16, i dove in and changed the timing belt. no book, no experience on cars...nothing. All i had was the dad of my then girlfriend. This guy was supposed to have experience. Turns out it was just v8s. anyway, I managed to get the job done and got it running. The next day and about 20 miles later my car starts to run rough. I exit and try to limp back around some side streets. Made it about 1 mile and the car died. Being ignorant i repeatedly cranked it over. Suddenly i heard a weird kind of knock. I gave up and ran/walked 10 mi to the nearest mall, where i could get a ride.
a few days later after i bought a book and tore the engine down, i saw the havoc. The timing belt came off by the way. At this point valves were bent and one even broke the head off and punctured a hole through the combustion chamber. even better that broken valve got lodged in behind another valve. Further down i managed to get the bearings hot. Ans, IIRC i believe i even bent one of the rods. SMDH....That was fun

Alright...Now thats its not 1am...I am a bit cooler. I know a guy about an hour and half away who has the bango fitting I need for the oil feed. Thank you c2ypt1c for the bolt sizes. HUGE HELP! Got everything I need I believe just gotta go drive and get a damn banjo fitting. Thank you very much guys! Sorry to hear about your stories... Things could be much worse....

Hi to a fellow Hoosier (Martinsville). If you know what size fittings you need on the engine side then take your turbo up to Earl's on Gasoline Alley and they can make your hoses on the spot. Not as cheap as some online places but they can get you setup and back on your feet asap. Bring as many parts as you can, like the stock lines and fittings, and explain what you are doing and they will get you squared away.

Jackstand ball'n for 7 years now. Got you beat. Bought 4 other cars since this one has been up on stands and still holding out hope ha.

Don't want to go off topic here and sorry for not posting related/helpful info about the OPs problem but don't the 14b and 16g have the same CHRA???
When I put my e316g on al the lines water and oil where bolt on right out of my t25. I did bend the water lines I bit just to clear the compressor housing and drilled the oil return bolt holes a little bigger but that's it. I'm just curious not trying to be a smart ass!

The best option is to use the correct bolts and not need to drill the CHRA housing and re-tap, ESPECIALLY since he is an admitted n00b. If he felt he had already messed something up, no reason to continue making uninformed choices. He made the right decision to look for the parts he needed since he decided against the kit.
