Ok, so I have been using a Greddy E01 and it has worked fine for me when I was running around 15psi. I've recently made some changes and finally have the fuel to raise the boost but for some reason the boost level fluctuates and is not stable. If I go WOT right away it never reaches the target boost level. For example, I am going along at 55mph in 4th and go WOT. If my target boost is 20psi, what will happen is the boost level will reach 16 or so and climb to 17 and back down to 14 about 2 or 3 times a second the entire time I'm on it and speed increases but boost never come online fully. Feels like the car is gaining and losing power. The strange thing is that if I go 80% throttle or so and allow the boost level to rise slowly it will reach the target and then I can go WOT with no issues at all, pulls cleanly with no jerking or loss of power. I cant seem to figure the issue out and I have a feeling that it may have something to do with the stock wastegate actuator being blown open against its will due to spring pressure? I have recently dodge modded my 1g BOV as part of addressing this issue and know that that it is not leaking or opening early. Any ideas?

I would start by making sure it boosts fine on the spring. And maybe try a manual controller. Its probably something with the programming though. Does that controller work on duty cycle or have a gain control?

Yeah, the E01 has a setting for gain. It goes from 0 - 100 as the max. Usually not knowing how it affected things I set it around 45. I'll see if I can find the manual online and see what the beat is. I just dont get why it worked well at a low boost level and not so well just 5psi more.

Well you probably just need to tweak the profile of the way the boost ramps ul with the ebc. I've never used that model but Ive used built in boost control on different ECU's. start with the dutycycle around 80% and get more aggressive until you are getting a spikethen back it down till it stays lose to target boost. That way you can get the quickest possible spool. Because 45% should give you a lazy but solid boost curve. Unless 45% is keeping the waste gate open so long in between signals from the head unit also that it can't even keep steady boost. You probably know but the wasgegate opens and closesz rapidly
with an ebc as the turbo spools and nears peak boost. That is why they sound funny with an open waste gate. If the duty cycle is only 45% their is a longer delay in the rapid opening and closing. So with such h long pauses, it may be bleeding to much exhaust. I've never had the duty cycle so low so I don't really know how it would react. I guess it word depend aot on each tjrbos exhaust setup and waste gate flow.
