Hey guys went on a cruise with some friends and hit about twenty psi. The boost controller was limited to 15 don't know how this happened. Anyway tons of pure white smoke poured out and now I'm leaking oil and coolant from the bottom of the turbo housing /downpipe. No coolant in the radiator and low on oil . engine did not overheat luckily. Do you think it's just a leaking busted turbo? And it's coming out into the exhaust? No leaks around the head or anything just really hoping it's not a blown head any feedback would be helpful!

Im no expert but sounds like a blown turbo to me. Take it off and check it out.

your turbo seals are done. You can verify this by removing the o2 housing and see if there is any oil.

if you have a stock turbo you can rebuild it for cheap or find one in the classified section

Edit: If your burning coolant through the turbo you must have a crack in the center section of the turbo

take off your intake pipe and see how much shaft play you have. sounds like your shaft seals are done.

this one...

Thanks guys, I just didnt want to hear blown head since I just had it rebuilt. It also has a hard time starting could the turbo be a restriction on the intake now? Stupid question but I have an fp 3065 laying around if I had it at ten pounds could run it on stock internals and 590cc injectors until i get 1200s? I have dsm link v3, front mount and a walbro 255.

justin's. i think, the one to answer this.

pm or go over to his 'own' thread... :aha:

On pump gas right? You should be fine at low boost. Take a WOT datalog with the new turbo and keep and eye on IDC's and knock.

BTW- I'm assuming you'll be using an external wastegate with the 3065? I would eliminate the boost controller and run one of the lowest pressure springs. I know the Tial MVS springs go down to just 4-5psi.
