knock knock, whose there? your connecting rod bearings

What do you fellow dsmers think about this connecting rod bearing? I heard a knock recently and saw metal in the oil, so i dropped the pan and pulled #4 connecting rod cap off. Doesnt seem to have spun though.

That bearing hasn't been knocking, but what about the other 3? Pull the rest of the caps (don't get them mixed up!) and check the other bearings. If a rod is knocking then it'll be obvious when you pull that cap.
 
Heres number 3 which before i took cap of i could wiggle it up and down a little bit. #4 also could a slight amount. I have a video of the noise it was making, but i cant figure out how to upload it

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the cylinder wall scoring with piston slap be towards the top of the cylinder wall (like the top 2"), not all the up and down?

Looks to me more indicative of contamination (carbon/metal/dirt) getting stuck between the skirt and cylinder wall or a pinched piston ring
 
What was your PTW clearances and did have your rods properly pin fitted?
 
Ill check my ptw clerance soon as i get home, and as far as i know this is the stock bottom end, ive had the car for about 6 years. And it sat for a couple of them.ij

Oh and after it was already making this knocking noise i was driving home one day and my timing belt tensioner failed. It didnt jump timing or anything, i only noticed it was cutting out if i gave it any gas, but as i pulled up to my house and got out of my car with it running i had noticed the noise was gone. I ordered new tensioner and put it on and noise was back.

that almost looks like some kind of detonation damage.
and if the wrist pin is hard to move, there could be massive contamination and the wrist pin seized, or as mention before, collapsed.
 
What is your crankshaft end play?

you thinking hes hitting a crank throw on something? i think thered be a bigger problem before he got that far.

edit: boosted, do you have a better picture of that piston from the top, a lil clearer quality?
