I'm trying to uninstall an old aftermarket alarm on my 95 Talon because ever since the battery died, I can't turn it off! (The old key fob had long since died a horrible washing machine death.)

At any rate, I was wondering what this cut wire was. Could it be the original horn wire?

In the picture, the hole on the left is the second hole up from the bottom where the mud flap connects.

I'd also appreciate any tips on how I can just rip this thing out. So far I just cut off the wires going to the aftermarket alarm horn. Don't even ask why I'm not using that horn instead, because I misplaced it. I said, don't ask. I don't even know where the alarm is yet - any tips on where to go looking?

Thanks!

Hard to say really but if you see the other end of the cable si connected to some other cable inside the heat shrink so probably is attached to a not oem wire follow that wire and see where it leads if not used cut the shrink and solder it back to where it belongs.

I was actually looking at the little cut wire above (which looks like it used to go exactly to that wire you were talking about). I'm also going to go exploring, but I figure I could be working on the physical side of thing while maybe someone could help on the knowledge side. Thanks! :)

Because of this DSM Tuners Link -

I was able to find the wiring!

Now all I have to do is find out where that alarm box is and rip it out. Any ideas?

Edit:

I'd like to thank everyone involved with making that thread!

may times an aftermarket alarm is installed under the dash above the drivers legs

Just an FYI to close out this thread. The alarm was where you said it was and I just pulled the fuse.

A couple of observations related to the thread/forum and not the problems themselves.

First, the title could've related more to the issue at hand. I could've said something like, "Is this cut wire the horn wire?" or something like that, so users in the future could find this thread in a search about horns.

Secondly, I shouldn't have put two problems into one thread - that was moronic because no one guess to look in this thread if they had an alarm issue.

Sorry about that.
