I am just about to put my rebuilt motor back in my car Sunday. Once I get the motor broken in, I want to convert to to E85. I've already read about all the benefits and draw backs about the conversion.

My car has an all aftermarket fuel system with: a fuel lab fuel filter, Fuel Injector clinic Rail, Stainless sending and return lines, Precision 1000cc injectors, a Walbro 255 fuel pump, and I'm running DSMlink.

I see a lot of people saying that you need twin Walbro's and 1600cc injectors. Is that correct or will I be okay with what I have? I should put out pretty decent HP... I'm running a
Garrett GT35 Turbo, with a 6 bolt swap (fully built with a stoker crank).

Thanks for your help.

I have a wally 255 wth 950cc injectors. I plan to go to e85 and I will be going with dual wally 255 inline with 1500cc injectors and I will also be getting a fual station at my house because the closest e85 station I found is 1 hour away so i doubt I will go e85 cheek you stations nearby first and I would save 2 different tunes though for 93 and e85.

I'm lucky to have an E85 station just down the road. But good idea to have a back-up tune in-case. Is it easy to convert to a dual walbro? Any other suggestions on a good pump set-up. I see one thread mentioned WELDON RACING 1100-A FUEL PUMP. Its a little pricey though. I've gotta keep my car on a budget. Especially since I just spent some $$ rebuilding the motor.

You could run e85 on 720's...It depends on how much power you're shooting for. 1000cc injectors on e85 will support around 450hp (possibly more at higher injector duty cycles). If the 255 pump can't keep up, just drop in a single 450lph walbro...

It's a little tougher to run a dual Walbro setup on a 2g. Full-Blown does make a hanger, but it's a POS. I had nothing but issues with it. If you are going to keep the stock fuel tank, I would run a surge tank and use two Bosch 044s or the Weldon. I chose to run a fuel cell and use two 044's in parallel, it's a ton of pump. Also, we ran a Walbro 255 in-tank and an 044 in series in Jason's grey 2g...it ran out of fuel at about 600whp on E85 on STMs dyno. Options 1 and 3 are cheaper, while option 2 gives you the most freedom.

On 1000s and a single 255 in tank on stock lines, I had a bit of overhead with a maxed out 14b. I switched to an HTA68 and saw 100% IDCs at 22psi and about 44 lb/min. A single 450 or dual 255s and at least 1650s would be needed to support your turbo. Dual in-tank 255s, -8 feed, stock return, and 1650s were enough for us to make 708whp on an S362 on a friend's car.

Thanks for the tips guys! It looks like I'll need some bigger injectors and a Weldon 1100 pump or a single Walbro 450. This cars not my daily driver so I want to make it super fast. To push the potential of my set-up, I'll either need to always run race fuel or E85. I think E85 makes sense especial because the station right by my houses has it. Plus I'm not too worried about my MPG. It will probably still be cheaper to drive than my diesel truck.

Yeah I have an e85 station literally 2mins from my place...it's pretty sweet. I always strike up conversations with all the evo guys filling up there. I'd rather pay more often for cheaper 105+ octane fuel, then pay less often for more expensive shitty 93 fuel...I only run e85, mpg doesn't bug me at all and I drive 40+ miles daily.

My friends 2g gst i tuned we were seeing ~ 95% idc's on 1000's and a 255 to achieve 12.2 afr's at 28-29psi on a 35r estimated close to 475-490whp. On low boost (20psi) idc's were in the mid 70's. This was with a stock fpr

Wasn't sure if a 255 could keep up with 1000cc injectors on e85...guess that answers that. Wow, was that on a stock bottom end 7bolt?

Wow. So I guess I could give my current set-up a try. I don't plan to run 28+ PSI often if at all. I'll most likely stay in the low 20's. Worst case I could try just upgrading my fuel pump.

PTE 1000s, walbro 450, stock lines, e85. At around 100% IDC on a night time pull in the 60* range i have seen over 50lbs/min of air. Afrs around 12:1 or high 11s

e85 costs ~$3.50 a gallon and in the summer blend has an octane of around 105-115. 'Nuff said right? Cheap race gas, to sum it up quickly. Doesnt like to detonate, can run more timing, more boost. Thats what octane does

I recently switched to e85, running pte 1000 injectors (more like 930cc) walbro 255 rewired, afpr. 25 psi on a 50 trim at about 41 lbs/hr airflow puts my injector duty cycle at 81%. Forgot to add my AFR is 12-12.5 on the gas scale.

I wonder how my 950cc and wally 255 would hold up with e85 on 25psi on an FP red
MAKE SURE YOU RUN YOUR CAR don't let it sit with e85 It clogs of you let it sit

I was running 30psi on a bolt on hx35 with a single walbro 255 rewired and 1150cc injectors. I had no troubles with that, I am now running a Walbro 450.

im running E85 on FIC 950s and a wally 255 on my 16g @ 20-22psi. Stock 6 bolt/stock trans. Car runs 11.9@116mph like this so far. Duty cycle for me is only at about 75%

So it turns out that I lost one of the injector tip cups for my Precision 1000cc injectors and they're hard to find. These things look a little old and I'm going to make the upgrade now. The local shop has some Fuel Injection Clinic 1150's... They're the Hi-Z. Do you guys think I should go with those or bigger? Again I have a GT35R turbo which I think is rated up to 600HP. I see some FIC BLUEMAX 1450CC's for around the same price. Does the injector latency make much of a difference?
