Alright so i swapped the engine on my 97 gsx auto and found a nasty transmission leak coming from inside the trans i unbolted the torque converter bolts and pressed in the torque converter i felt it move slightly inward. Could it be the torque converter isn't in all the way? I bolt the torque converter bolts back on and it pusher the converter back out. The trans didn't leak before the swap and is there anyway i can avoid removing the trans. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd guess pump seal is bad or the pump bushing moved fwd..Neither are major, but you have to get at the pump..Removing the engine might be less hassle..70 is the seal 34 is the bushing .

It is a possibility you didn't install it correctly. Inspect the seal that appears to be leaking. Lightly lubricate the seal and install the torque converter again And make sure it's in all the way. If it still leaks then I would suspect the bad seal. If there was a lot of downtime between the swap the seal could've dry rotted and went bad.

Ok so i guess im removing the trans. Thank you
Yra i think it might of rotted the car car hasnt ran since june last year i barely started it a couple days ago and the trans was sitting for a while
