Got some new motivation in the mail today in the shape of a 20g and FP manifold from one of their deals a few months back. Great customer service all around, definitely recommend doing business with them.

Only problem is the compressor housing on the 20g basically needs to be turned 180 degrees. Am I able to do this myself without screwing up the balance?

Clocking the compressor housing won't affect balance at all. Some housings (such as 16g) have a dowel keeping the housing from rotating, but I'm not sure whether your 20g will have that dowel or not.

The only problem you may run into is how the waste gate actuator bolts onto the compressor housing. I'm trying to visualize the 20G, but as far as balance no you won't bother the balance, the balance is between the two compressor wheels installed in the center section. Watch for the locating tab as stated above. I had a 16G on a Conquest many years ago off of a Mitsubishi Fuso and had to do the same thing. I had to rotate the compressor housing 180 and carefully blend off the locating pin. Also there is a large O-ring that seals the compressor housing to the center section, make sure that's lined up correctly before compressing the Internal E-Clip and locking the housing into place where you need it.

Also, I opted to internally gate the 20g. The exhaust housing came with a larger flapper. The hole for the WGA is too small to fit, is it ok just drill the hole on the WGA slightly bigger to fit around the flapper arm?

That's how it's set up when it comes from the factory. Realigning the cover has absolutely nothing to do with balance unless you screw something up along the way and the cover hits/damages the wheel.

That what I figured, but I thought to ask just to be sure. I also found your thread on rebuilding the 14b/16g, and I think that will be a useful guide to what I want to do. Maybe you would know, but for the WGA arm, can I drill the hole slightly larger to fit around the arm of the flapper?

And Gravedigger, the outlet came pointing up LOL.

I don't see why you couldn't ream the hole out a little to make it fit as long as there is still enough material around the hole on the WGA arm.

:hmm: to the turbo outlet... LOL

I know haha. Ill throw a picture up later. I think either MHI or FP was in a hurry to get it out the door! Still funny to see. I was looking over the turbo when I first opened it and thought something was a bit off!
