So I am overheating after I turboed my 420a. I did a complete engine rebuild with 8.8-1 compression pistons. I have 44lb/hr injectors with no tune yet so it runs like crap so I don't drive it much anyway. but when I do drive it, it overheats maybe after 20 min of driving. I have heatwrapped the headers and that helped a little but since the rebuild I have changed the thermostat and water pump. I have 2 cheap 8" ebay slim fans with oem radiator. Not sure if it is the radiator or I just have really crappy slim fans which I know ebay doesn't have the best fans. Am I overheating maybe because I am running extremely rich? Or do I have cooling issue? Thanks in advance!

its hard to say it could be anything from the obvious to not so obvious. check the cooling system first. make sure you dont have any vacuum leaks. leaner is hotter. if the timing is off it could run hotter. youll definitely want to get the tune worked out. But, you already know that.

flush the whole thing. is the heater working? would there be any reason that you could have an air lock?

Not sure why you even attempted driving a freshly boosted engine without a tuner or wideband.

Rich or lean- they both damage engines. And without a logger/tuner you could also be running insane timing and melting pistons. Who knows what damage was caused from overheating already...

So there's no point to chasing that issue until after the tuning situation is addressed. Until then, running the engine is just asking for a rebuild in the near future.

Address the tune. Check your thermostat. Also make sure you bleed out coolant sysytem even air gaps could cause car run hotter. might wanna change those ebay slim.
