January 5, 2014 - Demolished lip repair, cracked exhaust manifold, huge exhaust leaks fixed

Alrighty..soo..as you may remember, my previous lip got destroyed by a possum. So, I bought another one to replace it...and it lasted two weeks.

You've got to be kidding me :barf:

So, I got to thinking. I wasn't about to spend another $120 on a lip, at least not yet. That would take away from other things I want to get done. So I chose the next best solution. Grafting two broken lips together

Decided to be a ricer

And good as new. So, while all of that was going on, I had another issue at hand...one that irritated me quite a bit. BUT, I am more than happy how it was handled.

Da fuq...look closely

Yeah, that's right...a crack in my Redjack Racing Manifold that hadn't even been on a month yet! Aaaaahhhhhhh. I was irritated. I got in contact with Redjack Racing though and he took care of the repairs on it. Said this is the first manifold he has ever seen crack and that it must have been a fluke. I dropped it off with JMS Racing and had it fixed without any hassle on Redjack Racing's end.

So when I took everything apart I noticed this...not cool

So I fixed it

Also noticed my exhaust housing was super rusty on the inside and decided to have it sandblasted

Had the mating surface to the exhaust manifold decked (I don't use gaskets anymore, at least not until I have a reason to do otherwise). I use copper spray now

Alright so everything got back together eventually. There is a broken stud in the head that I couldn't get out so I ordered a copper embossed gasket for that. While I was waiting I got bored...interesting things happened...very interesting things...

First this

Update...got a dream car

February 1, 2014 - Bought a mothaeffin Evo son

Alright alright, don't get too excited. I decided I wanted to pay some bills off so I am selling my M45 and using the extra cash to pay off my credit cards. Originally planned on going with a cheap car but then this popped up. Originally posted for 10k, then 9.2k, then 9k. That's when I made my move and took it home for $8,400. Yup, 8400 for an Evo...needs tlc, but it's an evo. Come on

Now the deets:

Mod List/Details: (Copied from for sale ad)
142k miles (all original drivetrain)
Kozmic Motorsports tuned,260hp/255tq on Mustang dyno on a 100-degree day. It's my daily..
Competition Clutch street series 2100 Clutch
Competition clutch lightweight steel flywheel
ETS lower Intercooler pipe
ETS short route upper intercooler pipe
ETS intake & filter
evo x recirculating bov
EGR delete kit
Megan o2 Housing
3"exhaust all the way
MR bilstein Struts
Swift sport springs
Whiteline roll center correction kit
GrimmSpeed 3-port 24 psi
OMNI power MAP
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
The driveshaft shop Level 2 Front Axles
Replaced 3 of 4 wheel bearing hubs, as needed
Buschur racing shifter bushings
Mishimoto aluminum radiator
Timing belt, balance belt, pulleys, tensioner- within a year ago.
Master and Slave cylinder - within a year ago.

So that's all of the good stuff, now on to the bad. The car needs the brakes replaced (they pulse extremely bad). No big deal, I have a set of nearly new oem pads from when I did the brake swap on my dsm and I have a friend with oem brembo rotors. So, roughly $100 cheap fix. The front bumper is jacked, guy hit a possum or two he said so the paint is effed. Get that painted by a local guy, $200. Trunk needs polished/sanded because the people were dumb when they debadged it and sanded where the emblems were? Idk, it's weird. Next thing is a cracked taillight...don't like the viii taillights anyhow so gives me an excuse to buy different ones..uhh, $150? Next is a random screw in the sideskirt, don't know what the guy was thinking. Remove screw and use double sided tape like should have been used. Free (and gain a super awesome jdm hole in my sideskirt for air flow). Oh, the rear bumper is scuffed a little too, but not enough for me to spend the money to paint it for a daily, at least not yet. The interior is okay, a little stained, but pretty normal wear and tear. Also, it has two different headlights, don't know what's going on there but oh well, I will open them up and paint them the same color sometime. And lastly, it seems that the TOB (that's my guess anyhow) is a little noisy. Slight rattle with clutch out that goes away with it pushed in.

Alright! So if you read all that then you are expecting to see a huge pile of crap. I won't deny you from seeing it any longer...but know all of it's issues will be fixed very quickly LOL. If you didn't notice by my DSM, I like to have clean cars haha.

So all in all, I will likely have around 9,500 invested in it initially to get all of the kinks lined out. Did a compression test and the numbers are very good so I am not worried there at all. TOB worries me a little but I think it will be alright, I have heard aftermarket evo clutches are a little noisy as well. So, yeah

Awesome car man, I keep seeing pics of it over the years and this build journal is legit. A friend from a local DSM group showed me a pic of your car on facebook and a few other pics popped up on some pages I'm a "fan" of or whatever on there. Shits inspiring man. Read this article thats inspirational as ####: DSM from a past issue | S3 Magazine and ended up browsing youtube videos and found MY car at the beginning of a DSM tribute video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqw95dmReDg

This has been one of the most inspirational mornings I've had in a while LOL, after a 10 hour overnight shift to boot! I was reminded of a time when my friend asked me why I was dusting my car off because nobody cares about it...I stopped what I was doing, looked at him through the lens of pride and experience and said something to the tune of "First off, I don't do this because of what other people think. I do this because I love it. I love the car, I love looking at it, I love taking care of it. Second off, people do care. This car is special. People take pictures of it. I see them do it. They stop in parking lots, take pics, stare at it, me, and anyone in the car, they challenge me, they act a fool around the car in general LOL" ...and it's not even close to being on the level yours is! Seeing DSM's like yours helps keep that passion burning man! It's a beautiful thing in so many ways.

You have one of the cleanest dsms I have seen, and now you have an evo too?! Congrats man, keep up the good work!

Read every single post from start to finish and I feel so left hanging, post something about your dsm

absolutely love the car man!! congrats on everything.

were did you get the white walled potenzas? or did you chalk them?

To make a long story short (I'll post the long story eventually). I got my Carbonetics hood and hatch, my motor let go (or so I thought...), car now has a built 6 bolt and built head, I like my car.

Oh, and to answer the above questions. I painted them, they have faded...and the previous hatch lip was a universal one cut to fit

you are very lucky you did get your wires back from kevin you are only the 2nd person out of about 12 one includes me after paying a lot of people didn't even get there wires back but your car looks great

December 29, 2014 - A long overdue update...an actual one (a good one at that, widdeeboodddyyy)

It has been way too long since I have made an update on here. So since the last update, I moved from Texas to California for the military. While in California I got my Carbonetics hood and hatch, and had my stock motor go bad after swapping out heads. (This head is cursed). I then put in my built motor and it went bad on the trip up to North Dakota where I currently am stationed. Like I said, the head is cursed...haven't torn apart the built motor yet to see what happened. That is because I am building a widebody for my car (bored with it, if I don't finish the widebody it will get parted out) and need the motor in the car so it sits at the correct height in front. Anyhow, enjoy!

So let's begin with the roadtrip up to North Dakota. It began with my graduating training..

From there I stopped off in Vegas to see Alex and get one of his "Touched by Alex" alignments

And now begins the fun part! Made it to North Dakota (Minot) and put the car away since the motor was making some god awful racket. Oh! Put the Advans on the Evo for a little bit

You can get the gist, I have well over 20 hours into this one fender, probably more. Anyhow, got it smoothed out and laid down fiberglass to start making the flare

Oh yeah! These are my wheels, Work CR Kai Ultimates...unfortunately one had chipped paint so I sent them back...months ago. Still waiting on Fedex to stop being dumbasses and pay for their mistake. I bought the one wheel that you have been seeing for mock up.
