My 97 gst hasn't passed emissions for three months now.. Failed 5 times. All 5 readiness monitors won't set.. Set up an appointment for a state shop that would inspect it. They emissions tested it before they put it on the diagnostics and it passed.. I was like "Hmm?" And I read the sheat.. It passed with all 5 readiness monitors "NOT READY"... They were baffled when I pointed this out.. So was I... What happened? :hellyeah:

I don't use link. They called me back and told me the DMV had decided to EXEMPT my car from emissions and it will always pass no matter what now.. For the first time in my life.. The DMV helped me.

Probably decided that they have got enough of your money, o wait I'm probably wrong. It was god LOL

What year is yours? I don't have emissions anyway but it's good to know they are getting old enough to be exempt, that will help ALOT of people around the USA.

Some states exempt all 96-98 mitsubishi vehicles as NH does

Saf-C 3222.06 Exemptions from Rejection Criteria.

(a) The following vehicles shall not be rejected for inspection due to "readiness" status as set forth in Saf-C 3222.03(d):

(1) All new vehicles with an odometer reading of less than 1000 miles;

(2) All vehicles whose model year is the current calendar year minus one or newer;

(3) All models of 1996 Subaru;

(4) All models of 1996-1998 Mitsubishi;

Its quite a long list, i cut it short at mitsu . I got my car inspected the other day and the techs knew my car was on the exemption list but then questioned me when my car passed haha, ah the perks of link :D

So i get screwed til next year if i had to follow this nonsense.

Did YOU lock com? Us that confirmed to work?

Ehh in PA if you fail 3 times you automatically get exempt LOL

I didn't do anything in link. As fas as I understand it if you use link right before your car gets inspected it won't let the computer the state uses connect to the ECU. I believe it is one of the perks of link is that it will fix the readiness monitor issues that mitsu had. Since your car is a 99 it shouldn't have the readiness problems the rest of us have.

My old 98 gst in Illinois always passed even with the not ready results. The car also had no cat and all emissions equipment deleted on a stock ecu, yet never threw a code or failed a test.

Everytime I brought it into the shop to get tested the guy always said "Kid, if you didn't put all that useless computer tuner ricer shit in it, it would pass with flying colors.." I asked him what car he drove.. He said a 04 v6 mustang.. I asked him what it was like to be slower than a city bus.. Ignorance is bliss I guess...

In Wisconsin, you have to spend $800 at a certified shop to be exempt fro emissions.. I was amazed that they waived my car.. The guy analyzing it said the DMV has never done this before.. No matter how many times you fail, you must pay the $800.. I think it may have been a mistake at the DMV.. Or an act of God.. I am going with the latter LOL..

p.s - car is a 97.

I should get one just for shits...

Side exit exhaust
No emissions
Ecmlink lock com

They'd be like WTF

Do it for shits and giggles man.. Video tape it LOL.. When some of the mechanics analyzed mine they all asked "how are you not throwing a code, you don't have a rear o2 sensor? Or asking why I didn't have a cat." Some guy tried to tell me I'd gain more power from a cat, because turbo cars rely on back pressure to spool the turbo... :ohdamn::ohdamn::ohdamn:

For you guys with catalytic converter removed: Next time you go for inspection, bring a kitten. That way when they ask about the lack of cat on your car, you can put the kitten on the roof and say "I DO have a cat on my car, it's just a small one" :)

When you said act of god I thought you were going to say that the US fed government decided to hold israhell accountable for their crimes against palestine.

But then after clicking this thread I came to my senses and remembered that this commie forum doesnt allow intelligent political discussion.
