i tried to adjust the tpsvolts .63 i cant get it to drop lower then .98

the throttle pos says its at 14 percent, cant get it lower then that.

i took the cable completely off, im guessing this is the reason for my 3k idle and why even with my biss screw all the way in it idles as it does ?

or could my biss screw being buried be the reason my throttle plate isn't all the way closed?

i took replaced the isc

i replaced the tps

they are both new. i have no boost or vaccum leaks. i don't know how to post logs or i would post on up for you guys :p please help!!!

Do your years of DSM's have a throttle stop switch on the Throttle Body? I just finished setting my switch, tps and idle speed and my throttle switch was way out of adjustment. My car used to only idle at 1200-1500 but after last night I now have it down to 800 and it has never idled that low. Check for a idle screw that is holding the throttle plate open (in my case it is a brass switch with a wire to tell the ECU to stop fuel delivery). How about your tuning? Do you have a tuning program like DSMLink and if so have you tried to adjust your idle and tps thru it? Just trying to help since I literally just did this. On a final note, is there anyway you could have put the TPS in backwards so it is showing WOT at idle and MAYBE 0-3% at WOT? Just a thought.

The 2g throttle body has an SAS screw - acts as a throttle stop, but not the idle switch (built into the 2g TPS). You can see it in the blow picture directly below the spring and to the left of the lower left bolt..

The TPS can't be put on backwards in regards to influencing the reading. Either way you bolt it on it'll read properly.

If with the cable off it still reads 14%, either the SAS screw needs to be adjusted or if the throttle body was rebuilt recently, it was done incorrectly. The ISC and BISS have no impact on how far the throttle body is open/closed.

Thanks for the input Brian. You would know better than I would. I am only real familiar with the 1G's.

:sneaky: the Darwin award goes to me guys. I almost don't want to admit what the problem was, but im sure everyone wants a good laugh

so the othier day a buddy and I were drinking beers and putting my gm maft inline on my intercooler, we had to cut some tubing and being a couple beers in, we put a rag in the intake to protect against shaving getting in the tb.

guess what didn't get pulled out after we installed the gm maft? :ohdamn:

you guessed it, we forgot to pull the rag, so my high rev and 14-25% percent throttle was the rag being stuck in the plate........ :banghead:

but the idle is still pretty high at 1500

and im having a surge issue, I removed rag and used a scope and checked the intake and all cyclinders for residue.

anyone know how to post logs?

You're lucky it didn't get completely sucked in!

You can do this by clicking the Go Advanced button below the post box and using the Upload/Edit Photos button, you locate the file(s) on your computer and upload them.

Also, have you read these?

for some reason my computer is storing my log files only in the dsm program, I can pull them up in ecmtuning application, but can not when I try to add them to anything else

Either you didn't actual capture a log and just streamed it or you have some user error going on and can't find the .elg files on your system.

I can open link, I then can go to file open, it will list all my logs, I can then open and look at them, but when I try to do the same thing by going to my computer, its like the log files are hidden unless im opening them using the link program?

When I rebuilt my throttle body, I did the same thing. I had a rag in my upper intercooler piping while I was working on it. Later that night I wondered if I took that rag out before I put the intercooler piping back together. Next day, I went to start the car after the rtv on the gaskets dried and forgot to check that the rag was out. Realized what happened shortly down the road when the car was bogging really badly. Luckily, it didn't make it past the throttle body.

Computer. Owner. ECMLink (or DSMLink, cant remember how the folder is named) then Data logs. You will find your logs there for future reference.
