Im starting a build on my 98 7 bolt short block for but im not sure where to start, i was looking into evo 9 pistons with Frankenstein rods from the dsm graveyard but not to sure about changing the compression ration from 8:5 to 1 to 8:3 to 1 im not sure if that would make difference. could i just pop the evo pistons in and drive?

Im also looking into forged piston with rods like wiseco or manley but iv read things about stretching when used as a DD, im looking for around 350 to 400 hp to the wheels and will last a while since its going to be my daily driver. Any suggestions???? :D

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM DSM GRAVEYARD. PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS ON THEM.

Also I've never heard of forged rods stretching under daily usage.
And you can achieve 400hp on a stock block safely. Please do some research on the subject.

I have used the search and there's no one with my exact question on the build I'm looking to do and also I want to last a stock block made for. 210 Hp won't last as long if its pushing 400hp that's why I want to have a stronger bottom end. Please don't reply with use the search:thumb:

He was telling you to use the search to check the reviews on dsmgraveyard / graveyard motorsports.

You will drop compression swapping to the evo pistons, the evo head has a smaller combustion chamber that raises the compression Evo is 43 cc DSM is 47cc

A properly built and assembled stock rod short block will take 400hp, but that is about the limit I would suggest taking it.

The tune is what will get you that far.

This guy started two threads for the same thing?

I can't believe people still even go to DSMgraveyard's website. It's widely known all over the internet that company is absolute SHIT!

Another 420a member last werk just had issues after paying for parts and not getting them shipped or answering phone calls. Read the hundreds and hundreds of reviews out there and go with someone reputable.

Only people I'd trust for a build are my buddy jack, magnus, english, force engineering, and possibly jackson auto machine.

everyone saying the same thing over and over, i know why the compression is different but i asked will it make a difference or give me issues, and my other thread isnt really the same im asking for suggestions here and a straight question on the other.

i haven't got a answer on either by the way. and when you say jack you mean as in jacks transmissions? im not having them do work just buying the pistons from then im can install them myself i just want to know a few suggestions. everyone seems to just love replying on forums answering everything but the original question hahaha

Read as many reviews as you can before you buy anything from anywhere itll save you a lot of hassle in the long run. And id wait a few more days and see about a holiday sale and just grab some forged ones. You could look at the dyno pages and see what the other 400 range cars have also

No not jacks trans.

Use eagle or scat or manley rods and ross or manley pistons, only aluminum ones could stretch

Even then the stock 4g has held alot more power then 400

Just what ever you do do NOT give DSMgraveyard a penny

By swapping in evo pistons I would re tune for the lower compression and increase boost a little to keep up power. That aside you wouldn't have a problem running them.

If you want to run 400hp without worrying about how long it will last then just buy some forged rods. Manley, eagle, or scat are pretty much the same.
