I have a 1998 eclipse spyder gs-t and it is hard to switch gears at high rpms but it easy to switch (sometimes) at regular driving speeds. I put a new slave cylinder in the car and flushed the old brake fluid out of it and bleed it but i am still having the same issue.

Maybe your clutch is dragging. Give this a try and see if it helps before you go any further. Check your shift cables as well like urban smoker said. Have you checked the master cylinder to see if it has any fluid leaking inside the boot? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYJxQyjIhUw]Proper Clutch Adjustment - YouTube[/ame]
give this a try.

thanks for replying to my post. my cables do look old and i tried spraying some pb on the cables but didnt help so i will try some new cables and hopefully this will fix the problem! You guys are great!! :thumb:

@daddybonez the master cylinder isnt leaking... I checked that too

get them cables, and while your there change the shifter base bushings, and get the shifter cable bushings as well.

This, and get the bushings for the in cabbin shifter as well, they could be worn, also make aire everything that needs grease is greased. I have a part number for the bushing, it's the same one in 4 or 5 spots

I looked for the plastic ones and found something ive been looking for for years that no one made until now.

change the transmission fluid.... does matter if the trans is hot or cold? old nasty fluid likes to make it tough to shift when its colder but if its bad enough it will do it when its warm too

Hard switching at high RPM's?

Bet the fluid definitely needs to be changed ... or, (shudder the thought): there is little fluid in the tranny causing overheating and the gear set inside binding up on you due to heat expansion.

Best get this checked out pronto before any more serious driving.

-good luck .. DSM

ok thanks ill change the fluid in it too

@urbansmoker my car is a 2g and i looked up the cabin bushings and I dont see any on that website link. Only for 1g cars
