Hi, i just got a flat on my left rear tire and have to get a new one.
And a friend told me i have to change all 4 tires to not get uneven rotation on my axels which would wear out my differential.
This is a 2g GSX, we have LSD diff right?

I`m talking about the tire wear, i will of course get same dimensions on all tires.

Is this true? Would i need to get 4 new ones or can i just change out the flat one? Or would i need to get 2 new tires for one axle?

Thank you

I want to add a side note to this for users with FWD vehicles when they see this RESOLVED post:

Even though we don't have the complicated driveline that an AWD vehicle contains, still we need to watch off-sized tires, esp on the driving end of our vehicles.

One puts on a smaller tire (like the donut spare in our trunks) on a driven axle and run with it, the spider gears in the differential goes horribly insane since the smaller tire is causing the axle to rotate faster than the other side's axle. If this is kept up instead of immediately getting the tire fixed or replaced with the same size tire, the spider gears in the diff, will wear out considerably and that calls for a tranny overhaul.

A sure work-a-round on this is an two step process: If you get a flat on the front, jack up both tires on the same side of the vehicle and swap the rear wheel up to the front and put the donut wheel on the rear free wheeling axle.

This will protect the transmission and differential.

thx for listening - DSM
