I'm currently looking for some help to try to setup my AEM to run sequential ignition. I found it rather odd that I wasn't able to find anything online after a few days of searching. I remember seeing a thread awhile back that Turboglen made about converting your car to fully sequential injection, but that was more info for Motec guys and not about ignition.
I already have the coils run to 4 separate coil output channels and have activated coils 3-4 in the software. The issue I'm running into now is knowing what to set the ignition phasing as. I'm running the Kiggly 12 tooth crank trigger 8 injectors and currently have the phasing options as following:

IGNITION PHASING OPTIONS
Igniton sync - 6.73 teeth
pickup delay comp - 48us
Ign Tooth #01 - 0 teeth
Ign Tooth #02 - 18 teeth
Ign Tooth #03 - 6 teeth
Ign Tooth #04 - 12 teeth
Ign Tooth #05 - 0
Ign Tooth #06 - 0
Ign Tooth #07 - 0
Ign Tooth #08 - 0
Ign Tooth #09 - 0
Ign Tooth #10 - 0

INJECTOR PHASING OPTIONS
Injector phase - 15.05 teeth
Inject Tooth #01 - 0 teeth
Inject Tooth #02 - 18 teeth
Inject Tooth #03 - 6 teeth
Inject Tooth #04 - 12 teeth
Inject Tooth #05 - 0 teeth
Inject Tooth #06 - 18 teeth
Inject Tooth #07 - 6 teeth
Inject Tooth #08 - 12 teeth
Inject Tooth #09 - 0 teeth
Inject Tooth #10 - 0 teeth

Does this seem correct to you. I have this feeling that its wrong because the injector was supposed to be 180* different from the ignition cycle. I can send you a copy of the .cal file if you want to take a look at it.
Thanks for you help.
Frank

I'm thinking I should set the ignition and injector phasing like this.

IGNITION PHASING OPTIONS
Igniton sync - 6.73 teeth
pickup delay comp - 48us
Ign Tooth #01 - 0 teeth
Ign Tooth #02 - 18 teeth
Ign Tooth #03 - 6 teeth
Ign Tooth #04 - 12 teeth
Ign Tooth #05 - 0
Ign Tooth #06 - 0
Ign Tooth #07 - 0
Ign Tooth #08 - 0
Ign Tooth #09 - 0
Ign Tooth #10 - 0

INJECTOR PHASING OPTIONS
Injector phase - 15.05 teeth
Inject Tooth #01 - 12 teeth
Inject Tooth #02 - 6 teeth
Inject Tooth #03 - 18 teeth
Inject Tooth #04 - 0 teeth
Inject Tooth #05 - 12 teeth
Inject Tooth #06 - 6 teeth
Inject Tooth #07 - 18 teeth
Inject Tooth #08 - 0 teeth
Inject Tooth #09 - 0 teeth
Inject Tooth #10 - 0 teeth

I'm doing the exact same thing at the moment. Got 4 smart coils each runnin straight from EMS. Except i'm on series 1 and stock trigger.

Your ignition phase looks good to me and from what i know the injectors are NOT supposed to be 180* out.

I got the new ignition synced, phased, its getting spark and fuel. The problem i'm running into is that it will start but it won't run properly.

I'm going over this issue with aem experts, as we speak, but i would be highly interested to find out if you ever get this working!

I will let you know if i can get this worked out because i haven't heard of any other dsm running smart coils yet. And after a week of dealing with them i'm starting to see maybe why not. Lol

Have you check out the AEM forum? I remember it being discussed years back for the series 1 box. If I recall you need to open the EMS and change some jumper around on the interface board. Also, and I'm not completely sure about this, there might not be enough drivers available. I think in the end it didn't really make any noticeable difference and most just stuck with wasted spark. I never ended up doing this. If I find my info on this I'll post back.

I think I may have found a solution and my answer to my question. Just going to test my theory out before posting up the info. On another note does anyone know how to convert the aem to send a falling edge trigger for the 4 coils other than wiring in 2 factory transistors.
