I actually just dyno'd the car again yesterday. I was finally able to get the base tune completely finished. The car made 701hp@ 34psi. I raised the boost up to 45psi and the car would pull clean to 6k and blow out the spark and start to missfire. I tried adjusting the dwell times on the coils but no avail. I also tried bringing the plug gap as far as .17. On one of the 45psi pulls the car broke the spider gears in the front diff and completely smoked the rear tires. I have been I touch with metro to send me a new front diff. Once I get the new diff I'm going reinstall the stock coils to run with the dynatek to take the car to the track and see how it does.

Wow 701 Thru the Auto? Very impressive. Gotta get it down the track. Good luck on that.

Update- Bought a new ignition system. Was able to get some of the wiring done today. I can't wait to test it out and get this car to the track.

Just finished up the harness. Just have to wire it into the car now and make a cover plate.

So what is the deal with thoes coils? Did you try gapping your plugs down further, like 0.015 - 0.013?

Mine are very tightly gapped, if I remember correctly at .018 I had severe blowout.

The car is looking very good!

I didn't bother gaping them smaller. I had already decided that this was the limit of the ignition I had. The new coils don't use a cdi box each coil has it's own sperate igniter. This is a 4 channel smart coil setup. With these I can adjust dwell time to help get a better spark.

I'm actually took of the 13th-23rd of this month. We could definitely take them out that week. I was going to try for the Wednesday at E-town.

Hey guys another update, tried getting the coils with separate igniters working but couldn't get it to spark correctly. In the process I realized why it was that the spark was getting blown out on higher boost with the 8 injectors. I contacted Devin from Boostin and he is going to look over my cal file and help me out with a wiring schematic. Until then Ill be running the dynatek wasted spark with the newer pencil coils without the individual igniter.
If weather cooperates I will be at the track Wensday for testing.

The dynatek ignition box with 300m coils is a pretty proven combo. Is that what you had on the car when it was breaking up?

Yeah that's what I had. The issue I had was when I raised the boost to 45psi the car would break up. The real problem was when I raised the boost is the same time I activated the secondary injectors, and when I setup the secondary injectors I had forgotten to set the phasing for injectors 5-8. So what was happening was that injectors 5-8 were firing on cylinder 1s injection cycle. So the fuel was pooling up behind the intake valves for 2,3&4 and causing the car to breakup.
Remember that's 2200cc injectors with 90 psi of fuel pressure. It's amazing that the ignition was lighting the none atomized gas at all.

Hey guys got a bit if an update. Finally got a chance to get the car out to the track. Had a few first time out issues and a few extremely strange ones. In the end I was able to get the car back in shape to run up until the alternator went ending my night. Best pass of the night was 10.7 on waste gate pressure but I believe the voltages were way down and the car should have went much faster. All in all I'm happy with the time given the amount of bugs we corrected yesterday.

Glad to hear you got a chance to get out and sort out some issues. Of course the alternator went out... :| Good luck in the future!

Yep, it's fine though now I'll install the 120amp Saturn alternator and be done with that. It's crazy how the car completely died the last pass and still made almost the same mph but a lot lower et. I think the pass might have been going more to a low 10 high 9.

Here's the video of the 10.7 pass. Watch how the car is pulling through the brakes and then I came off the brake half way through the 60ft and still cut a 1.7. This happened because the vacuum pump wasnt operating at full voltage.
