Hello all,

I am having some trouble getting this new turbo to build boost. My last turbo was a FP green and it made 23psi by like 4k. Now I have a 60-1 and I can barely get 10psi out of it by 6000. First it would only do 5psi but I went and pulled some timing and now I can get 10psi. Could someone please look at log and map and offer some advice. My email is [email protected] I hope that is ok to put in the forum. I thank you in advance

Also, rename the .dat to .v1.19.cal

Sounds like a mechanical problem to me. If all you did was slap on a new turbo, nothing with AEM should've changed, let alone the boost pressure. How are you controlling boost?

I am just using a tial wg no boost controller but I have one. The spring is set to 20psi same as last setup

the turbo was rebuilt do you think that is the problem did you see the logs? It is making boost any suggestions? So the tuning shouldn't matter with a new turbo? I know it was set to use a internal wg but I have a external wg on my fp green. So I removed the flapper just like it is removed on the fp green. Am I missing something?

Check for vacuum leaks. Also I believe your supposed to have a way to keep the wastegate flapper shut if I'm not mistaken. The way you have it setup your constantly bleeding off exhaust pressure.

Check for exhaust leaks pre turbo, also what turbine housing are you running, dont expect that turbo to spool like a FP green, also something restrictive in the exhaust may be causing back pressure that will kill any turbos spool. (Collapsed flex section for instance.)

I did not see the logs due to me not having a pc at the moment. Tuning will definitely change if you're using a larger turbo. You will most likely need more fuel to match a higher cfm. Why did you remove the flapper for the internal gate? You need that closed to build boost. The pressure is then released by the external gate. Why does your turbo have an internal and external wastegate? You should only have one or the other.

I have an external wg it is the punishment o2 housing with the tial wg attached. The green had the same set up and the flapper had been removed from there also. I am thinking the tuning also because initially I wasn't making any boost but after adding fuel and pulling timing I can atleast 10 psi. I know there is a lot to be done tuning wise. I am a novice so I amsure it will take a lot of trial and error

If he were running an external wastegate off the manifold that would be true, but he has it run off the o2 housing, so it needs to be open.;)

That is set up correctly, so your problem must be somewhere else. :hmm:
