My 2g carpet and headliner were trashed from water damage (leaking sunroof and hatch which I fixed) when I got my car. I tore them out and have been riding that way for months. I sure as hell.wasn't going to pay for OEM carpet and the condition of carpet from 2g s at the junkyard is horrendous. I found a 3g carpet in immaculate condition for $7 at the junkyard and with a few minor adjustments I made it fit. The interior dimensions are almost the same. I just had to trim some off the rear console area and the doors, and I sliced it across the center (under the seats) so it would lay right. It's not perfect, but you only see the flaws if u know where to look.

Arrrrgghh. I can't upload pics from my phone! I'll work on it. the carpet's black, so you can't even see the imperfections in the pics. Here's the only problems: The hatch release doesn't match up exactly- there's about 1" of space in the front. I just put a piece of scrap carpet underneath (the 3g plastic might fit, not sure). I had to cut new holes for the seatbelt bolts and the rear two bolts on the front seats, so you'll have some extra holes, but they aren't noticeable. If you look down on the side of the seats you can see the overlap of the carpet. It's only noticeable if you're looking for it; I may pull the seats and use some adhesive on the flap. I had to trim the excess off the door edges, so you can either restaple the clips or just tuck em, and i had to cut a chunk around the ecu/ back of the console. It doesn't lay perfect across that bump; there's some extra space that can easily be suffed with the backing cut from the console area. The only other place that's tricky is where the rear plastic side panels meet the weatherstip- I just made a few short cuts and overlapped, then tucked under the trim. Trust me, it's doable, and if you get black carpet, you can barely see the imperfections. If your carpet was shot like mine (and tan, which is a bi*** to clean), and if you don't wanna spend $150 for new carpet, this is definately worth it. Word of advice, don't get razor happy when you first lay it down; I wound up cutting a little too much in a few places.

hey man im not to far from easton, did you go to harrys to get that carpet?

I actually live in Easton, we'll actually Forks. You didn't do much more trimming then you would with aftermarket carpet but with OEM quality. Good to know there's another option.

did you happen to notice if they had any 1gb's laying around?

They have an app for being able to post pictures on a dumbphone. Its photobucket mobile, log in to your account, tap the pic and it says "view links" select direct link and then post in here. Same as doing it with two tabs on a computer.

I too want to see this carpet, so download that app and post it up

Headliner wise I just ripped off the old
Cut a square if my choice of fabric
Spayed on krylon adhesive (get the one for wood/metal not fabric it hold better)
Waite a minute for it to get tacky
Lay down new fabric and smooth it over all the bumps then Waite 24 hr and your good
Cost me around 25$ but I also bought 5x the fabric I needed to wrap some extra stuff. And about 45mins to do! Super easy!

Carpet wise wasn't going to pay to get oem and ran out of options tried to dye it black from gray turned purple LOL although it looked bad ass I wanted black!
Get 2/3 cans of gloss black spray paint I kid you not and paint your carpet let it sit for a day or so and air out and it won't even smell up your car and looks brand new! If you ever need to redo it!

Good luck!

first, I'm working on the pics right now. Second, to new2awd, harry's has one 1g talon esi in their domestics yard, red with grey interior. it's not listed on their online inventory, which often happens. third, i suppose if you wanted to get ghetto you could just sand the foam off your old liner and just paint the board and you never have to worry about the material coming off. I may just do that.

photos aren't the best, but you get the point

How is the fit in the pedal area?

I wish this was posted earlier.... there was a 3g with perfect black carpet at the yard like 3 months ago that I pulled the rear seats from.

From the pics it looks great. This sounds much easier/cheaper then dying my tan crap black. :)

pedal area fit almost perfect, same with the back area. After much contemplation, I realized the best way to deal with the extra inch or so in length was to cut the carpet straight across under the seat and overlap (You can see it in my pics by the seat lever). You may be able to cut the excess from the pedal area instead.
