Here's mine ebay love them.

HEy Dsmkauai,
Which bulbs were included with your headlights?
6000k bulbs?
Are you using 55w Ballast's?

PLEASE upload pictures of the headlights on and shining against a wall from further away PLEASE? take a couple photos and post them I am considering buying the identical headlights that you have!

I want to know which HID bulbs you are using and which ballasts and the name brand of the bulbs and how well they are performing. Are they extremely bright in the stock projectors?

Thank you!

Here is what I am looking at.
Part # 444-ME97-CCFL-C

Spyder® - Mitsubishi Eclipse 1997-1999 Chrome Halo Projector Headlights

The best way to do this is to do a full Retrofit. I'm in the process of doing this and I got all my bulbs, ballasts, etc. from "The Retrofit Source". It's expensive.

If you use an ebay kit, you run the risk of not having the proper components in place and might actually DECREASE your light output and not to mention blind oncoming drivers.

It all depends on where you get the components on how expensive it is. You can find proper retrofit kits on ebay for 300 and under. One could also look on craigslist to find some. It's all about resources and how you use them. Example, I am getting evo8 hid projectors, bulbs;and ballasts for $100 bucks. Can't beat that for a retro.

All projectors perform different.
eBay/Chinese projectors will not perform as good as an OEM projector.

Even those EVO X projectors (a newer version of the E55) will not be as good as other OEM projectors. I've had E55s previously, they were replaced by FX-Rs which were better and now I've replaced them with TLs (even better). The TLs might be replaced with something better.

LOL Anthony, I think you go threw projectors like it's nothing. I was just trying to say that a retrofit doesn't have to be as expensive as most put it out to be. I don't think that I'll be too disappointed with the Evos. I'll rock their odd w shaped cut off LOL.

While TLs are great performers, they are HUGE.
I'd advice the solenoid conversion kit that TRS sells but it requires some experience with projector modification to install and set up right.

Ray, my problem is I always want the best LOL.

Me 2!!!!:thumb:

DJ-- It sounds like you took the time to find a good source on ebay. All I was trying to say was that if you try and get the cheap "kits" you probably won't get the best performance. I'm not ripping on ebay, but sources like I mentioned have a great reputation and will work with you if you're not happy. I can't say the same for the ebay kits.

PS My DD is a TL and I Can't Imagine trying to get those projectors in our headlight (holder thingie :ohdamn:).

If you are buying OEM projectors on eBay, as long as they are good condition then you are good to go.
Now you will fine Mini projectors similar to what TRS sells but they are not tuned/tweaked, this can be a big deal for someone who's never played with projectors.Plus you don't have the support from TRS unless you go through them.

The solenoid is giant on the TLs, TRS actually sells a solenoid conversion kit that uses a Mini solenoid so it cuts down the height. I don't want to bother with it though. Next projector for this car is the LS460, best of the best.

Led halo blows, must get ccfl to have some bright ones.

LED halos in most Halo lights are driven by 2 small 5mm LEDs, that's why they are so dim. An LED ring with many SMD LEDs will be loads brighter then LEDs. Plus CCFLs don't like the cold.
These are the style of LED halos I'm talking about: Morimoto XB LED Angel Eyes - Accessories from The Retrofit Source Inc

The CCFL look so much better IMO, I had them on my eclipse when I was 16 LOL, but the LED would fade half way through the ring because it was just one led.(These are the EBAY LED ones, that retrofitsorce one above looks legit as well)
But if you dont want to go into the headlight the CCFL ones for sure.

The CCFL was nice and bright and even. here is a pic of it on my old car.

I got them because I liked the amber stock appearing sides and not just a circle reflector.

I roll clean now, just the clear lens ones on my talon.

I have the same ones that volkstroker referenced above and quite honestly I hate them. They're made by spyder and the previous owner put them on approx. two years ago and they're falling apart already. Granted, they're the white/ clear not the black, and they're on a DD that's not garaged, but I have nothing but problems with them. The seal on one is leaking, allowing moisture to get in; the wiring on the other one is beginning to crap out where it runs into the cup behind the bulb, causing an intermittent black out. i hate the fact that the beam direction isn't adjustable like the factory lamps, and worst of all they're yellowing from the inside. I'm either gonna tint them or buy some factory lamps off my buddy.

I'm looking for some new headlights. Black housing and good visibility.
Those halo style lights look nice. What would be the best plug n play black halo headlight?

DIY-For 1g is goes something like this.60mm led ring(parking lights),at least 70 for both low and high beams.probably 70(Middle) and 80(outer).But I remember the parking light space only allows for about 62 mm of material, before touching the space youll be using.I can remeasure for middle and outer light. If anyone was intrigued.

Not sure if this is legal but,on the 1g you could completly take out the 1156,and use the ring as a parking lightx2

Just to chime in on these halos...BRIGHT. Like, "if my HIDs fail, I'll still get home at night" bright.

I'm having a custom set reworked (thanks USPS :|) that came with CCFLs on the 4 projectors, and likely will be using the XBs again.

Hey lando.
So I could buy those ebay halo ccfl lights and get a set of those that you linked and it would be set?

Can you link the setup you're going to use all so I could compare.

You mean replacing the CCFL ring with a XB ring? I'd call it a good idea!

LOL

My setup will be a bit different, as I don't have a DSM; 4 Morimoto projectors retrofitted and if I keep the halos (currently damaged CCFLs) I'll be switching to 4 XBs.

This style XB is on sale now at TRS, I think:

The newest iteration has a white outer look when off, though these are not the old-old school...maybe? LOL
