hey guys, was thinking of de badging my 98 tsi. The side 16v dohc turbo badge and the EAGLE and TSI AWD on the rear of the car. Was hoping I could see some pics of other peoples cars who have done this so I can get a taste of what it will look like. Thanks :thumb:

I don't have any pictures that I can add, but if you paint is older or faded. It may stand out and still be able to be read. Not saying that it's going to on your car, that's just something to think of. If you do decided to go through with it post up some pictures. We all love seeing those :)!

I recently removed the "AWD" emblem on back bumper and sadly my paint was a little to faded and i can still make out AWD LOL ill post a pic tomorrow but mine paint is not clean at all i used a razor blade to pull the emblem up and Isopropal ahcohol to remove the remaining adhesive. Clean 2gb:thumb: i would kill for a 2gb body:|

FYI...A quick and easy way to remove emblems is to take a thin (4-6 lb test) fishing line and work it behind the emblem using a sawing motion. Works great to cut through the adhesive without scratching the paint.:thumb: I would also take into consideration what others have said about faded paint. Almost every time I have de-badged a car there has been a noticeable difference between where the emblem was and the surrounding paint, although a lot of times it can't really be seen until your up close.

When I debadged my car, there was a difference where it used to be (ghost letetring) but using some polishing compound took care of it!

yep you can cut and buff the area and shine it all back up. That is how paint shop blend two different panels together. If you go to your local paint store they can give you a run down on what is required

I've always used a hair dryer and some fishing line. Then just use a buffing compound to help with the difference in fade.

I always put the badges BACK on my car.

*Shrugs*

People don't recognize what these cars are anymore, so I feel it makes my life easier because I don't have to explain it quite as much
