oh really no boost lag? i didnt know that and i found a apexi boost controller on the classifieds pretty cheap i thought you could turn it down with the wastegate or something?


and if there isnt a boost controller then how did they turn it up from stock to 17 psi?
 
If the injectors are hitting 80% idc on a t25 @ 15psi, then a 16g sure as hell is going to hit > 80% @ 15psi...run wastegate pressure until you upgrade the fuel system.
 
I said the same thing just wait till you feel what 24psi feels like then that's it now I'm going to be building a 700hp motor. Iit happens to all of us link is still my best suggestion it'll help monitor everything and really get the most out of your setup trust me I wish link was the 1st thing I bought LOL
 
With a evo 3 16g at 15-16psi I was seeing high 90% IDC's (injector duty cycles) and when i went to a 20g at 14psi I was seeing 112% idc by 7500 rpm. This was all with stock 2g 450cc injectors... I would recommend 14-15psi with your 16g, especially if you have no supporting fuel and intercooler mods
 
So I have a 1g awd talon with intake, exhaust, 20g, rewired walbro 255, and soon I'll have some 550cc injectors. I was just wondering how much boost can I safely run with those injectors?
 
I havent gotten to the point of installing my similar setup, but when I asked the same question a well known fellow tuner suggested no more than 18psi. Without all of the proper mods I wasnt planning on doing more than doing 15psi, until i could get everything else upgraded. You know youre going to "hear" that youll need a wideband and tuning device if you dont already have it.

I'm sure you can find a sizing calculator either on this site or from what brand injectors you own that would tell you the lbs of air per minute your injectors will support.
You can also look up the air flow capabilities of the 20g turbo to get a better idea.

You won't be able to install the injectors until you have the tuning solution anyways. I'd keep it at wastegate level until you're ready to start logging and tuning. The amount of boost you run is setup and tune dependent. Without a tuning solution you will be running a stock 1g timing map which is actually quite aggressive, add a significant increase in boost to that and you will run into knock and potentially a blown engine. Take your time, do it right, reap the benefits!
