So my car was tuned by a neo. In a 240sx now cause im wanting evoscan.
Can evoscan control boost relevant to gearing(1st@10,2nd@15,3rd@20) an so on?
Also its a 98gst with a 99gsx ecu, so all i need is the cable my laptop an download evoscan software an tune to my liking correct? An is there specials that run on the cables or just one vendor for them. Evo is free right. Thx for the help

Although Evoscan supposedly does have support for flashing, most people use ECUFlash for flashing and Evoscan only for displaying and logging data. I haven't heard of anyone releasing mods for the 98/99 DSM ECU that supports gear-based boost control. The tephra mod for Evo 8 ECU's have this and MANY other mods that are awesome. I have used the 98/99 ECU with ceddymods in my 98 GSX, and the Evo 8 ECU with tephra mod in the same car as well as an Evo, and would highly recommend the Evo 8 over 98/99 if you're looking for a lot of features.

If you only want to log and not flash, you can get a cheapo vag com cable on ebay for 8 bucks; if you want to flash, go with the Openport 2.0 cable with the Mitsu flash connector.

Correct. I'm also running evoscan/ ecuflash.

If you want to reflash AND log, you need both ECUFlash and EvoScan.
Flash is freeware.

I can't speak for him, but I'd say a combination of street tires and FWD along with a lack of LSD; probably one-wheel-peeled till the 330 mark. The mph is in line with a 12 second slip in an AWD, so it's making decent power though.

I'm in a similar boat as the OP..I opted to skip DSMLink and use my black box. So for tuning on speed density I will need ECUFlash, EvoScan, and CeddyMods correct?

Yup, as well as the IAT and MAP sensor.
