Anyone know how much those bad boys weigh? I'm about tired of these heavy evo MR SE wheels I have.

Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 17"x9" Wheels for Lancer Evolution Evo 8/9 Anthracite | eBay
Team Dynamics Pr Race 1.2, 17x9" with 27mm offset - same as the ones we had the group buy for here on the site years ago. I love these wheels on my 1g. Maybe someone here can score them. Thought I'd share. I know I've had several people contacting me about them.
Leon? Haha funny Jtmcinder
19 pounds if I recall correctly
I was really considering getting a set of these when Luda first brought them up. I wound up getting a set of 17X8 OZ Superleggeras instead. 15.6 pounds. I got them with tires for a ridiculously low price. i still like these wheels very much and they are light for a 9" width wheel.
Nice Phil, I was hoping someone here would pick them up. I think they are closer to the 21 lb range. I was a little disappointed when I weighed mine but I also talked to a few people and found that the spoke design was among the best for brake cooling, the offset was correct for our cars, and they're strong too. I got over it. I still wouldn't mind having a second set of RFP-1's but those don't have the correct offset.They are on their way to my house as we speak Starting to gather parts to finally convert the Talon to road race. However, I may toss them on my Laser and road race the FWD first.
Honestly, I think they are more like 21 lbs. apiece. I will weigh one when I get them and post the number up.
While they are not 15 lb. lightweights, they are super durable and this exact design is still used in racing to this day. Catch British Touring Car on Speed Channel and there are several cars running these wheels. And these tracks over in Europe are brutal compared to US road courses with the exception of Sebring International in Florida.....

I agree that a good centering ring is 99.9% as safe as a hubcentric wheel. If you only look at wheels with centerbores that match Mitsubishis, your options are way too limited.
I love how my wheels look too.... though if I could have done it again I probably would have gone with a bright silver, though I can always refinish them. I think they look bad ass on the car - very beefy.Very true....now if you were endurance racing with pit stops etc, I would say different.
However, I love the look of these wheels, the weight doesn't bother me at all considering my talon is 2200 lbs........and why not get the perfect offset and centerbore. For my #1 purpose = driving, there was no other choice. If it was a street or show car, obviously I might have chose different.
Form = #2
FUNCTION = #1

Mine are a satin gray, I believe the anthracite. I like them but I like the lighter silver better. I think I remember weighing them and having them come in at around 21 or 22.Agreed, quite possibly my favorite look for a 1G ever. Oh yours are what...flat or satin silver?
Mine arrived a few days back....I love em. Totally killer. I actually wanted a white set, but I don't think they ever made them in this spec. I know you could get bright silver, anthracite, flat black, and gloss black. And for sure, you could always refinish them.....I may snag another set down the line here a bit. Also, after lifting one out of the box....not so sure that 21 lbs. will be the ultimate weight......they seem even a bit heavier than that to me.

Agreed. Until we find another wheel manufacturer willing to work with us on specs and get a wheel that fits perfectly in the right size, this wheel is the best choice for a 1G road racing DSM, even if it's a little heavier than I'd like. The right specs, great spoke design for brake cooling, allows for huge brake kits, and it's used widely in professional racing (WTCC and BTCC). I haven't found a better option available.Not to single you out on your quote Chris, it was simply the most convenient. I do believe you are correct on the weight. That aside, when I find myself fretting the weight of parts on the track car, I just remind myself:
How much will this REALLY hurt my lap time? (very little/un-noticeably)
Will honing my skills be able to make up for that? (Umm, yes I'm no Randy Pobst)
Is this the best option out there, weight "penalty" aside? (absolutely)
Case closed, I have 2 sets of these wheels.
Props on scoring the wheels, Phil!
I've been looking for a 17x9 +35 for my 2g for EVER!
Might just pick up something else.
