Ok guys recently purchased a really clean 1G gst. Car had 88k original miles
I know the expected build date for a 92 would have to be before April correct?
But I can't seem to find the build date on the door. Any idea how I would find the
cars production date? I've used the search bar an vqaf an both said on drivers door.
My sticker or plate is missing. Any help would be appreciated.

So you want to know if it is a 6 bolt or 7 bolt? Look at the oil pan under the oil pump. If the flange is flat it is a 6 bolt, if it is rounded it is a 7 bolt.

I know on some E brakes there is a number stamped on and they can contain the build date. Otherwise, look here.

How to quickly tell a 6bolt and 7bolt engine apart

:thumb:

Appreciate all info guys! I will report back shortly. :thumb:

Sorry guys just got off work. Its a Six Bolt car. Thanks for the helpful information.

1 major way is to check by oil pan shape
Also I believe if its a 92 it was still 6 bolt I believe in 93 that's when they started putting 7 bolts is the 1g... but yeah check oil pan...

One good thing about the 7 bolt is that the rounded area under the crank sprocket when changing out the front BS belt, the task suddenly became easier since one doesn't have to pull the sprocket off as with the 6 bolt setups.

don't go by build date. I have a real late 92 and I have a 6 bolt. checking the actual engine differaences is the only way to tell
