Hey im having a problem with the stereo in my 92 eclipse it works perfect if the cars not running but once started it turns off and won't turn back on u ntill the cars warmed up.
if I hit the gas it'll start getting really static sounding and if the volume is up and the blower motor not on its really bad it gets better yhe higher I turn the blower on
any ideas

Are you on the stock radio, or do you have an aftermarket? It sounds like your grounding out.

Its aftermarket it had a pioneer and did the same thing so yesterday I bought a jvc thinking it was just a bad headunit but it does the same thing
ill check those wires tomorrow I just got to work

Ok so I was just thinking the other day and my turbo timer says my alternator is putting out 15.9 volts and I just remembered it was doin it in my talkin right before I pulled the motor and put it in my eclipse is it possible that its charging to much causing it to turn off so nothing happens to it

I have installed stereos in all sorts of vehicles. I am rv tech and I see the noise problem all the time because of all the appliances. Noise filters do work. The filter is basicly just a magnet with the power wire wraped around it. I have even seen them in household dvd players. The high voltage could be the big issue though. the charging voltage should never be that high. Which is why the radio gets better when the blower is turned up higher (more amp draw) I would focus on fixing your voltage issue before it becomes a bigger problem and ruins your ecu. Also check the stereo manual and see it it gives you a operating voltage range, if not try calling jvc tech support.

I have the same problem with my aftermarket radio. I found that my aftermarket speakers, Polk 4.5 in dash and doors with Kenwood 6x9s in the back are drawing too much power. I need to use a different spot to ground the radio as the one i used is not a very good one.

Not a safe voltage for the stereo to be seeing, check and make sure your ground for your stereo is grounded to clean unpainted metal. Could also be a bad voltage regulator.

The reason it turns back on when the car warms up would be due to the voltage dropping down when an alternator is cold it will have a higher votage then when it is warm.

So I finally got a chance to take my alternator off and warranties it I put the new one on my timer says its charging at 13.4 -14.4 and the stereo is actually working how it should no more cutting out
thanks for the help
