Ok I just did my first head gasket replacement so I don't think that a sensor or ignition coil is bad. But I have spark on only the 1 and 4. So after doing some research it seems like the cam angle sensor as far as my problem. I know I'm new to this so give me a break. But is it possible that I mounted the cam angle sensor on like is there a certain angle it has to be at? Second is the only way you can get to it is to remove the intake sprocket?

95-96 models you do have to remove the intake sproket and its pretty straight forward when you mount it. I would double check it. I had the same problem on my 95 gst and the sensor was broken because it was loose.

well I was under the impression that it would fire when the sensor but not run for very long. Another question if I have to replace it are the auto parts store sensors worth it cause they look allot different? Do I have to order it from mitsubishi

well it worked before I took it apart. I just don't wanna rule out another possible problem before I take it apart for no reason. Has anyone had only spark on 1 and 4. cause the car was sitting for a long time before I put it together I thing that's a big coincidence that it went out while taken apart. But I scanned it and no codes but the battery was out of it for awhile so im lost.

The CAS determines which cyl pair (1&4 or 2&3) fires. So a bad CAS could easily cause only the same pair to fire (signal is always high or always low - you could see if the voltage on the CAS blue/red wire is changing while cranking). Understand that a bad power transistor, coil, or connection can also cause only 1 pair to fire.
