Car start up rough idle and dies

Ive been having some problems with my 95 gst. At first the car would Idle any where from 1500- 1700 rpm, days later it started sputtering really bad in all of this no CEL changed plugs, now the car barley want to stay runing check fireing order and its right, when i try and start with maf unpluged it runs a tiny bit better so is it a bad maf or some other sensor HELP i miss a week of work already
 
so does it crank? then run like its misfireing? and then the car cuts off? is then when on a cold start? more info please..

when i got the car a few weeks ago it ran fine, a week later it had the high idle issue, day later it start with the misfire, change plug and wires, now when i start it it runs for a few seconds and dies when started up with maf unpluged it runs like shit but wont die
 
do you have a cel for the maf sensor? and sounds like it could be a coil pack issue. have you done a boost leak test? what were the results? mine had a cold start issue that made it misfire. but mine was as simple as the exhaust manifold had a crack in it. have you done a full tune up plugs wires etc?
 
Im havin a similar problem with my car.i havent tried running it without the maf plugged in. Im gonna go check and see if it works. Does your car feel like the fuel cuts out?
 
do you have a cel for the maf sensor? and sounds like it could be a coil pack issue. have you done a boost leak test? what were the results? mine had a cold start issue that made it misfire. but mine was as simple as the exhaust manifold had a crack in it. have you done a full tune up plugs wires etc?

No CEL only when the maf is unpluged, yes plugs and wires where just replaced this whole issuse made my change them hoping it would help and as far as boost leak test i spray soapy water on all vaccum line i could find found nothing. The car had a coolant bypass done by last owner and i preform the undo thinking that would help as far as exhaust manifold is wraped so i cant if there is a crack but it does smell like fuel near it and my wrap smoke somethime dont know what that is about i will have to try coil pack next thank

Yea it does start's up for about 5 sec and die's, fuel pump even sounds like it die's to until i try and start it again

I'm having the exact same problem, did you ever figure it out? I changed my O2. Sensor and I changed plugs but seems like it made it worse. Runs fine at higher idle but won't idle unless given gas and if it does idle it has surging
 
when checking for vacume leaks you have to use carburetor clean or propane. when the car starts quickly spray around the back of the mass air flow meter to the end of the intake manifold also between the head and the intake manifold. the idle will either rise or subside depend on the category of the leak.
 
All you have to do is a boost leak test and it will show any vacuum leaks. Also the maf doesn't always throw a CEL. Checking timing isnt a bad idea before you go cranking on the car anymore. I would check the computer for any stored codes as well
