My shop has a few press and it's a pain in the ass to press wheel studs because of the angle+shape of the hub so we pound them in on the vice. It's quick and will save you a trip to a shop.

Easiest way ive found to do wheel studs is to get 5 washers. Get your impact out and pull that bi*** through with the lug nut.

You gotta pound hard. With a few hard blows, it'll press right in. Put the front of the hub facing the vice with the lug nut hole in between the vice opening. Make sure your using a big hammer. At least a 3 pound hammer. The center punch should be at least as big as the back of the wheel stud.

Guesss what!!!

And clearance for the lower ic pipe which I'll try to move closer to the rad support by clocking the turbo.

Yah i know shes put to shame with how dirty :(

Just curious, what spring rates did you choose front/rear? Do you plan on corner balancing the car?

Took out rear crash beam and sliders in the rear and battled with two stripped bolts i had to grind flat so it would come out. Rear bumper was tricky but got it.

Also removed under chassis exhaust shields. And started to remove the front shocks. Weather is starting to warm up. I think the car lost a good 15lbs.

Also found out someone previously to me owning this car got in a small rear end colision. Just the crash beam damaged luckily

Doesnt matter cause i removed it anyway.

Edit:
Weighed the crash beams, 20 lbs removed. And the exhaust another 35lbs so with the side exit exhaust i removed 55lbs today.

Picked up some aerocatch hood pins to protect from fly up. Ive been rocking stock latch at 135mph so far with no issues but every pass i get more paranoid.

Was just notified Fp will no longer be producing/releasing the billet chra so now i gotta go with a standard GT chra

In pretty bummed but oh well. Garrett chra has been proven so why change.

Bummer on the billet man, I know you've been excited about that I was drooling over the pics in your other post that was asking about people's 3794 experiences. At least its still an incredible piece of hardware that is durable, not like you're going from a Garrett to a fleabay 16g LOL. I'm pumped to see those Aerocatch flush latches installed, I am trying to decide wether to get normal pins like Sparco makes or do the flush style. Kind of nervous to drill and then cut the hood for the flush ones, would be much easier to drill a normal circle with a bit made for it as opposed to having to jigsaw out a teardrop!

Suspension install get finished up ok? They sure looked good sitting on the bench bet its even better on the car! I found a 98 TSi local out here and am considering buying it to replace both my GSR and 95 TSi shell. Already has full poly suspension bushings and Koni/GC combo plus its black which I want. Running on a stock 7 bolt with 126k, could make for a decent daily while adding mods till it pops haha. Keep up the good work on that emerald beauty!!

1998 eagle talon tsi awd turbo/Mitsubishi eclipse -> Link to 98... Dunno about eclipse high rise on talon rear end is only issue I have. Wanted to do that to mine but now I am saying hells no LOL.

I haven't dine the front suspension yet kinda putting it off. I'm modifying the rad support bushings cause it sits high.

I jad sparco pins and never installed them. I also dont wanna ruin my hood but i habe a good execution plan

Two hole saws the sides of both ends of the aerocatch and a dremmel.

Got the half rad i stalled. Fan sits a little close to the manifold, hope it doesnt melt. The intercooler pipe was sort of not letting the fan center on the rad since i jad to cut a little bit ofnthe rad to clear the pipe itself.

Okay guys some stuff came up and i have been thinking about the billet chra I'll be missing out on and choose to cancel my order for the 3794 and wait til next season to see if the billet's are available. I'll continue to be running the hx40 for this season to put some numbers down on it. And I'll be waiting patiently til the billet is avalible.
Some other personal conflicts also made me choose to cancel.

I will get a 3794 as my next turbo, it's just not my time right now:(

That will give you a good chance to maximize the setup you have now at least. Get your tuning spot on, improve the engine's efficiency to churn out a few more lbs/min out of the 60mm, and get a bunch of seat time on a setup you know well. I would think making the jump from where you are now to the level of that 37R will take some serious money and time, you'll probly have more fun this year pushing what you have versus starting over from scratch and chasing down each area of the car all over.

Still a few months left to figure it out, don't be mad with 10s for now LOL thats a pretty sweet mark to savor for a while!!! I'm still excitedly awaiting the Aerocatch install, write up looks good so far, gl on the real cuts bud!

It was sketchy, i had to drill the driver side one 3 times on the rad support to get the pin even with the passenger LOL. Oh well. Everything worked out nicely and since i have a slot more or so then a hole for the pin to fo theough, I'm gonna tack weld the washer where i want it

It's so cold here 3*F that i used a spray bottle to clear off the dust and shavings it instantly froze upon contact and will probably stay there til spring LOL.

Now i need to install the fluidampr.

I gotta beat that 9.7 fwd hx40 2g :thumb: i think i weigh the same if not less.

I ground that funky one so it's flat like the other one gonna drill the anchor holes tonight.

Here's the lower ic pipe and dump finished!
3ypezuta.jpg

Enough hose clamps to insure it never comes loose. :)

Post up a sound clip of that once it's on. Looks great!

Thanks man! Lucky for me it takes 5 minutes to bolt on.

Unlucky for me it's too damn cold out and havent gotten to start the car with it yet, most likely when the snow starts to melt, it's damn salty outside.

Only had to use one roll for all these :)
