Looking to get into welding.
Friend of mine has access to a MIG, we've both tried it so far.
Is it better to learn on a MIG or TIG?
Ive used a TIG, when I was in tech school. Just basically creating a puddle on 1/4 or 1/8th inch aluminum and then moving it around. I never got the chance to start using rod with it. But I learned to shape the thimble(?, maybe called something else)
Who here has welded chromoly, and does it weld like stainless or mild?
I have a buddy at STM that says it welds like mild. But i wouldnt know.
I'm buying a cage soon and want to prepare.
4130 welds very similar to mild steel.
Ooo wow that looks really nice! Damn flux core definately keeps the colors more than mig.
Thats quite the gap to fill.
Is that 16 gauge? What amperage?
Your welds are always perfect one passers
