It looks like an oil pump seal. Looks too small to be a cam seal. I can't think of any others that small off the top of my head.

It's not an oil pump shaft seal. Way too big. Looks more like the seal for the transfer case.

Well, by googling the part number that's clearly stamped on the back side of it. You sir have won yourself a piece of a power steering pump rebuild kit for a ford probe! Congratulations, what's behind door number two?

Edit, actually, I didn't notice the either 36 or 38 that's blurry on the left side of it. The probe one is a 57. Even if youput 36 or 38 with that part number, it still only brings up the probe kit.

Been working on any mazdas or fords lately?

Lol no chance. Im leaning more towards what srkegler suggested:

But im still not sure...

Theres a part number on the seal itself its hard to see sometimes but find it and search it my monies on transfer case tail seal or transmission output seal ask me how I know :boring:

I have photos of all my seals I bought during my head rebuild. I dont know if any of these match the one you have.. Included in the photos are the cam seals, manual transmission output axle seals, front balance shaft seal, and the front and rear main crank seals. Not included are the transmission input shaft seal and oil pump seal, anything for the transfer case, im sure there are plenty more.

all for 4g63 turbo.

I crossed the part number at work and it came up as an oil seal for a geo/cheverolet prizm 93'-02 & a toyota corolla 93'-02'. Didn't have enough to see what exactly it was for on those particular vehicles.
