A buddy of mine has a td05h big 16g (49178-01420). He is willing to give it to me to put on my 92 vr-4 but i had a few questions. What supporting mods will i need (fuel injectors, intercooler etc..) How would i go about getting a housing for it? He only has one, is there a particular one i need for the second? where can i get a housing for that one? Is it worth it?

I'm new to vr-4's but i've been around cars for a while, hopefully you guys can help out, thanks in advance!

I could tell you a few, but I gotta say... the first mod you should have IMHO is an engine management system of some kind.
ECMlink V3 (at least V2) would be most bang for your buck.

Something better than stock? Not exactly sure what you're looking for here....you can use as small as 550cc injectors or as large as 2150's depending what your budget is and what type of tuning platform you're using.

Again, I have no clue what you're asking here. There are two turbos and only one turbine housing?

What I've personally gotten away with without a tune if this is for a galant, note every car is different, but any ways it's been, injectors, full 3" exhaust, hard piping to the stock sidemount, fuel pump, and a wideband and boost controller, was only set at 12psi on the 16g I had. Along with an evo3 exhaust manifold and 7cm housing on a 10:1 bottom end proving many locals wrong saying my set up with that compression was too high on pump gas.

I think he's talking about a 3KGT VR4...still, one turbo with two housings doesn't make sense...
GVR-4 in the title and his profile...I don't think we're talking about a 3000GT here, though I could be wrong.

More details would help for sure.

Well If the car is a galant vr4 the turbo will be a bolt on situation. No upgrades are NEEDED just to swap the turbo over. But down the road,You will want more.

If were talking a vr4 3000gt(gto) There stock turbos are td04,not td05.Specifically a 9b td04 turbo.
